Patent number: 10949429Abstract: In general, the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in methods, systems, and program products. A score for each of a plurality of authors of posts submitted to a server system is determined. The score for each individual author in the plurality is based on a score of one or more authors in the plurality that have requested to subscribe to a stream of posts that the individual author submits to the server system. A particular post submitted by a particular author in the plurality is received at the server system and from a computing device. A score is assigned to the particular post based on a score of the particular author. The particular post is transmitted from the server system to computing devices that are associated with authors who have requested to subscribe to posts by the particular author.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2017Date of Patent: March 16, 2021Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Todd Jackson, Andrew A. Publication number: 20200175958Abstract: An ultrasonic transducer that includes a delay line, an active piezoelectric element, and interposing metal conductive layer between the delay line and active piezoelectric element. The delay line and active piezoelectric element are joined so that ultrasonic waves may be coupled from the active piezoelectric element into the delay line or from the delay line into the active piezoelectric element. A via is formed, using a milling operation, in the active piezoelectric element to expose the edge of the interposing metal conductive layer between the delay line and active piezoelectric element. A conductive layer makes electrical contact between the interposing metal conductive layer and the surface of the active piezoelectric element to allow an electrical connection to be made from the surface of the active piezoelectric element to the interposing metal conductive layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2018Publication date: June 4, 2020Applicant: Ascent Ventures, LLCInventors: James M. Patent number: 10511652Abstract: In general, the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in methods, systems and program products. A server system receives from a plurality of computing devices indications that a user of each of the computing devices requested to receive posts that a first user authors. The server system receives from a first computing device a post that was authored by the first user. The post is transmitted from the server system to the plurality of computing devices. A score for the post is determined to satisfy a criteria for transmission to a second user who has not requested to receive posts authored by the first user. The determination uses a distance of the second user to the first user in a social network graph. In response, the post is transmitted from the server system to a second computing device that is associated with the second user.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2018Date of Patent: December 17, 2019Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Todd Jackson, Andrew A. Patent number: 9900358Abstract: A system and method for generating a stream of content with candidate content items associated with a likelihood of being interesting to a user. A model generation engine generates a model for a user. A scoring engine obtains candidate content items and compares candidate content items to a model to determine the most interesting content items. A user interface engine organizing first and second content items in a first direction and a third content item in a second direction. The user interface engine receives feedback that includes a request for additional content items or a request to remove an interest associated with a selected content item from the model. The model generation engine updates the model in response to feedback.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2015Date of Patent: February 20, 2018Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Andrew Tomkins, Todd Jackson, Shaun Modi, Ray Su, Justin Lewis Kosslyn, Robert Spiro, Jessica Ko, Cameron Adams

Publication number: 20180015155Abstract: Thrombostasin is an anti-clotting protein found in saliva of Haematobia irritans. Disclosed herein are studies testing blood uptake of horn flies feeding on cattle which confirm the association of ts genotype with blood uptake of horn flies. Blood uptake volumes of homozygous ts10 horn flies were lower than those of other ts genotypes when fed on control cattle. Cattle vaccinated with recombinant protein isoforms rTS9 or rTB8 resisted horn fly feeding by yielding lower blood volumes compared to flies feeding on control cattle. The impact of vaccination varied by ts genotype of flies. Cattle vaccinated with isoforms rTS9 resisted flies of ts2, ts9, and tb8 genotype. Vaccination with isoforms rTB8 produced resistance to ts8, ts9 and tb8 genotype flies. Horn flies of genotype ts10 were not affected with either TS isoforms and fed well on rTS9 and rTB9 vaccinated as on control-vaccinated cattle.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2017Publication date: January 18, 2018Inventors: Mary S. Cupp, Eddie W. Cupp, Christine Navarre, Dunhua Zhang, Latora W. Todd Jackson, Eugene Blair
