  • Patent number: 11951798
Abstract: The present embodiments relate to an HVAC system which is externally mounted on a vertical surface of an RV, truck or bus. The desire is to eliminate, or at least substantially reduce, a potential leakage path wherein water may sit on an upper surface of a vehicle and due to seal degradation over long periods of time, may find a pathway in through the roof of the vehicle and to an interior thereof. By positioning the HVAC on a vertical surface, gravity works to move water downward and away from the HVAC system rather than allowing it to stagnate in an area around potential apertures through the outer skin or outer surface of the vehicle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 16, 2021
Date of Patent: April 9, 2024
    Assignee: Dometic Sweden AB

  • Publication number: 20210207882
Abstract: Present embodiments relate to a heating, ventilation, air conditioning (“HVAC”) system which is used in both fixed and mobile structures, and which has a luminaire disposed in the HVAC to provide illumination therefrom. The luminaire may be a single continuously on light or it may be a flashing light with one or more patterns. The light may emit a single or multiple colors. The light may also have a flashing sequence which corresponds to audio. The light may be wired to a switch and/or may be controlled by a smart device in wireless communication with the HVAC system.
