Publication number: 20180195186Abstract: A liquid/gas diffusion layer (LGDL) 112 for use in a proton exchange membrane electrolyzer cell 100 includes a planar body 120 having first and second surfaces 128, 130 that are separated by a body thickness 126. The body defines 120 a plurality of straight-through, non-interconnected, pores 122 extending through the body thickness 126, between the first and the second surfaces 128, 130. Each pore 122 has a peripheral rim shape 124, a throat area, and is separated from one another by a land length distance. The body has a porosity c that is calculated by dividing a total throat area of the plurality of pores AP by a total surface area of the surface around the pores AH, and where the porosity ratio e is between approximately 0.20 and approximately 0.80.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 12, 2017Publication date: July 12, 2018Inventors: Feng-Yuan Zhang, Todd Jefferson Toops, Matthew Michael Mench

Patent number: 7676789Abstract: An architecture for customizable applications includes an application object and a customization object. The application object has internal logic that performs a set of fixed or predetermined actions, and a public object model. The public object model includes a set of public methods that are invocable on the application object, and a set of event source which are methods that can be implemented by a programmer and are called by the internal logic of the application object. By implementing methods invocable by the event sources, it is possible to extend and customize the functionality of the application object. The customizations are stored in a customization database for retrieval during the dynamic operation of the application object. Each customization may be identified by a “moniker,” which is a string having a hierarchical format. The moniker is derived partly from fixed data known to the application object, and partly from environmental data that is ascertained by the application object at run time.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2005Date of Patent: March 9, 2010Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Elliot Omiya, Todd Jefferson, Andrew Clinick

Publication number: 20100020728Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for providing a user a way to change communications presence information is disclosed. A point of presence (PPD) device may produce presentity (a source of presence information about a user) which may be transmitted out-of-band to a watcher or watchers of an intelligent call handling presence server.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2009Publication date: January 28, 2010Inventors: Todd Jefferson, Yanick Dufresne, Tim Wilson, Noam David Tomczak, Peter Macaulay, Brad Dixon, Alec Saunders, Howard H. Publication number: 20080075251Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of telecommunications and more particularly to a method of and system for organizing, prioritizing and placing a user's outgoing telephone calls. One embodiment of the invention allows a user to generate an electronic list of telephone calls to be made, the ordering of entries being made by priority level, higher priority entries being placed higher on the list than lower priority entries. The user simply requests that the next highest priority call in the list be made, and the method and system identifies the telephone number for the next party on the sorted list and places the call. Thus, the user can step through his list of calls without having to locate telephone numbers or waste time dealing with unimportant calls. Other embodiments allow the user to determine whether a potential callee is available, or willing to accept his call.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 12, 2006Publication date: March 27, 2008Applicant: Iotum Corporation, a Delaware corporationInventors: Todd Jefferson, Yanick Dufresne, Andrew Hackston, Noam David Tomczak, Alec Saunders, Howard H. Publication number: 20080037748Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of telecommunications and more particularly to a method of and system for setting up and initiating conference communications One aspect of the invention is broadly defined as a method of conference communication management comprising the steps of scheduling a conference communication with a number of participants, using a telephone number of an originator of the conference communication as the dial in number (or some other unique resource identifier); responding to arrival of a call on the telephone number of the originator of the conference communication by: determining whether the calling party should be allowed to join the conference communication; and responding to the calling party being allowed to join the conference communication by connecting the calling party to the conference communication bridge; otherwise, routing the call on the telephone number of the originator, elsewhere.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2006Publication date: February 14, 2008Applicant: Iotum Corporation, a Delaware corporationInventors: Todd Jefferson, Yanick Dufresne, Andrew Hackston, Noam David Tomczak, Alec Saunders, Howard H. Publication number: 20070047522Abstract: The present invention relates to telecommunication systems and more specifically, to a method of and system for managing and routing calls and/or data between various devices. The invention includes a method of routing real-time communications including the steps of: obtaining rule preferences from a user, and responding to the receipt of a communication by determining the current contextual state of the user. The method then determines how to route the communication with respect to the current contextual state of the User and the User's rules, and routes the communication in accordance with that determination.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2006Publication date: March 1, 2007Applicant: Iotum Corporation, a Delaware corporationInventors: Todd Jefferson, Yanick Dufresne, Andrew Hackston, Noam Tomczak, Alec Saunders, Howard Thaw

Publication number: 20060288099Abstract: The present invention relates to telecommunication systems and more specifically, to a method of and system for responding to inquiries regarding user presence with respect to various communication systems. The invention provides a method of responding to a presence inquiry for a given user which includes the steps of establishing context parameters for the user, establishing rules to govern responses to presence inquiries, the rules relying on values/states of the context parameters, and determining values/states of context parameters at the time of the presence inquiry, including identifying the party making said inquiry. A presence response is then established with respect to the established rules and the values/states of the context parameters at time of the presence inquiry This presence response is then reported to the inquiring party.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2006Publication date: December 21, 2006Applicant: Iotum Corporation, a Delaware corporationInventors: Todd Jefferson, Yanick Dufresne, Andrew Hackston, Noam Tomczak, Alec Saunders, Howard Thaw

Publication number: 20040224217Abstract: The invention is an integrated membrane electrode assembly, method for using the assembly in a proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell, and methods for making the assembly using axially aligned carbon nanotubules. The preferred embodiment of the integrated membrane electrode assembly has at least one proton exchange membrane having a cathode surface and an anode surface, at least one axially aligned carbon nanotubule anode layer disposed on the PEM anode surface, at least one axially aligned carbon nanotubule cathode layer disposed on the PEM cathode surface, and a catalyst disposed along the annulus of the carbon nanotubules of the anode layer and the cathode layer. The assembly transports reaction gases along the aligned axes of the anode and cathode layers in an essentially one-dimensional diffusion pathway for contact with the catalyst thereby improving the mass activity of the assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2003Publication date: November 11, 2004Inventor: Todd Jefferson Toops
