Abstract: The present invention relates to an exhaust vent soot guard device that prevents heat and soot from an exhaust vent from damaging the exterior of a building. The device is primarily comprised of a base plate, a hood, and at least one fastener. The base plate can be secured to the exterior of a building above an exhaust fan via the fastener, wherein the hood attaches to the base plate and is comprised of a first half and a second half that form an angle of less than 180 degrees. In this manner, the hood blocks heat and soot from damaging the building's exterior once it has exited the exhaust vent.

Abstract: Improvement in a coupler for an air temperature control system in the form of a coupling adaptor interposed between a known tapered end male connector and a known female coupling including a line set with a pre-charged refrigerant medium at one end and a metallic diaphragm seal on another end, the adaptor comprising: a first portion having a first central cavity including an inwardly-directed portion having a peripheral knife edge; and a second, adjoining, portion, having a second central cavity communicating with the first central cavity, a diaphragm cutter, proximate to the first portion and extending into the second portion, the second cavity also including a distal annular nose portion and an internal peripheral groove, retaining an elastomeric seal, between the nose portion and the diaphragm cutter, and a diaphragm interposed between the diaphragm cutter and the seal. A method of assembling the noted coupler is also set forth.

Abstract: A service valve and cap assembly is disclosed. The service valve comprises a valve stem that is inserted into a valve body. An upper portion of the valve body defines a collar selectively formable between a first installation inner diameter to a second retention inner diameter. A service valve sealing cap includes a base portion and a generally annular sealing portion. An annular shoulder is formed on the sealing portion inner diameter, such that the radially inner diameter of the shoulder portion is less than the collar first outer diameter, and is greater than the collar second outer diameter.
