Patent number: 11691157Abstract: A system for comminuting solid waste material including a shredding device disposed within the casing and comprising parallel first and second shredding stacks that include first and second parallel shafts rotatably mounted between an upper shredding device housing and a lower shredding device housing and a rotating screening drum disposed within the casing and mounted between an upper screening drum housing and a lower screening drum housing, the rotating screening drum configured to permit fluid to pass therethrough while capturing solids on an outer surface for delivery to shredding device, an upstream portion of the rotating screening drum disposed upstream of an upstream portion of the shredding device. The upper shredding device housing and the lower screening device housing are separate members from the upper screening drum housing and the lower screening drum housing to permit interchangeability of different sizes of these components to meet system needs.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2018Date of Patent: July 4, 2023Assignee: SULZER MANAGEMENT AGInventors: Rob Sabol, Corey Glauberman, Brian Bowling, Todd Nydam

Patent number: 11524253Abstract: Provided is a wash press that separates liquids and solids from a waste stream. The wash press includes a tank having a semi-cylindrical shape. The tank has an inlet at a top of the tank for receiving a waste stream, a screen disposed in a portion of a bottom of the tank to permit liquid to pass therethrough, and an outlet for permitting solid materials separated from the liquid to pass therethrough. A rotor extends through the tank for transporting and dewatering the waste material entering the tank. The rotor includes a plurality of helical flights interconnected by paddle members to permit agitating the waste material. The wash press also includes a removable cover that enables the rotor to be lifted vertically, and a removably attached screen to facilitate replacement/repair of the same.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2018Date of Patent: December 13, 2022Assignee: SULZER MANAGEMENT AGInventors: Kevin Moir, Todd Nydam, Rob Sabol

Publication number: 20220219101Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a screw conveyor for discharging solids from a solid/liquid waste stream is provided and comprises a cylindrically shaped screen segment including perforated screen segments and an inlet for receiving a stream including solid and liquid materials, the perforated portions configured to permit liquids and smaller materials to pass therethrough. The conveyor includes a rotor auger disposed within the screen segment and includes helical flights configured to move solid materials larger than perforations on the perforated screen to move vertically when rotated. A drive motor is included to rotate the rotor auger and anti-rotation elements are disposed radially outward between adjacent perforated screen segments and configured to prevent rotation of solid materials to permit the rotor auger to move the solid materials in an axial direction of the rotor auger rotation.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2022Publication date: July 14, 2022Applicant: Sulzer Management AGInventors: Robert SABOL, Corey GLAUBERMAN, Todd NYDAM, Kevin MOIR, Rory E.
