Patent number: 8195599Abstract: The present disclosure includes methods, devices, and systems for inferring system-level properties. One or more embodiments include generating a constraint model based on a system model having a number of components at different levels of abstraction and on a number of verified component properties. The constraint model can include a number of mission constraints modeling one or more mission requirements, a number of system constraints modeling one or more system-level properties, mid a number of component constraints modeling one or more component properties. One or more embodiments can include analyzing the constraint model with a constraint solver to determine whether one or more particular system-level properties can be inferred from the constraint model.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2009Date of Patent: June 5, 2012Assignee: Adventium EnterprisesInventors: Mark S. Boddy, Hazel S. Shackleton, Todd P. Carpenter, Kyle S. Nelson

Patent number: 7330841Abstract: A computer implemented method of predicting decisions uses the knowledge of one or more individuals. The individuals, referred to as a team, are knowledgeable about the domain in which decisions are being made. The team individually rates the importance of decision criteria they deem relevant. They then rate the extent which multiple problem characteristics are deemed relevant to the decision. The ratings are subjected to automated quantitative analysis for consistency, and the raters may discuss and modify inconsistent ratings if appropriate. Once the ratings are accepted, the raters then rate the decision options against the highest scoring problem characteristics as determined in the initial ratings. After one or more further rounds of consistency evaluations, the highest rated options are selected as the prediction of the decision to made by the adversary.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2003Date of Patent: February 12, 2008Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Edward L. Cochran, Todd P. Carpenter

Patent number: 6832952Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for enhancing the air quality in buildings during a chemical and/or biological attack and/or when the air quality around a building drops to unacceptable levels. Preferably, relatively non-contaminated (clean) air is stored in one or more clean air reservoirs. Once stored, the clean air is selectively delivered to buildings when a chemical and/or biological attack is detected, and/or when the air quality around a building drops to unacceptable levels.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2002Date of Patent: December 21, 2004Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Anthony E. Faltesek, Ronald H. Jiracek, Todd P. Carpenter
