  • Patent number: 7617116
Abstract: A medical practice management system can be used to manage a medical practice. A medical practice management server communicates with a medical practice client user interface over a first network and communicates with a payor server over a second network. The medical practice management server receives information associated with a visit by a patient to the medical practice. Prior to using the information to create a claim, the medical practice management server automatically and repeatedly interacts with the information to ensure correct information by either applying one or more rules to the information or by performing one or more transactions with the payor server. The medical practice management server performs a correcting action in response to finding an error in the information and subsequently uses the information to create an insurance claim.

  • Patent number: 7389596
Abstract: A shoe drying rack to fit a dryer's drum, comprised of an open container divided into two mirror imaged halves joined together by an adjustable connector arm. In one embodiment, the adjustable connector arm is a telescopic arm, allowing for the sizing of the shoe drying rack to fit different size drums of a clothes dryer. A strap and holding posts located in each of the half cylinders keep one or more shoes in place during drying. A shoe drying rack in which the two containers are mirror-imaged half cylinders fits best within the round dryer drums, allowing for a large surface area of contact for stability and balance during drying.

  • Publication number: 20080126133
Abstract: A healthcare professional (e.g., doctor, nurse, receptionist, medical billing administrator) can access a patient's workflow to add, delete, change, and/or approve of items associated with the workflow (e.g., refer patient to specialist, schedule an appointment, communicate patient information, add blood test, view blood test results). Another healthcare professional can access the patient's workflow to add, delete, change, and/or approve the items associated with the workflow (e.g., accept referral of patient, confirm appointment, communicate patient information, submit blood test results). • Publication number: 20080065415
Abstract: Medical practice information (e.g., insurance claim information) is received from a plurality of medical practices (e.g., 80% of the medical practices in Massachusetts). The medical practice information is combined together so that inter-practice statistics can be determined based on the aggregated practice information. The aggregated practice information is analyzed to remove all individual medical practice identifying information (e.g., the Winston Cardiologist Group address which associated with its patients). The inter-practice statistics includes, for example, payment time for a particular procedure for a particular medical specialty in a geographic region (e.g., cardiologists in Massachusetts urban areas receive insurance payments for an angioplasty in 14.5 days) and/or any other type of statistic associated with a medical practice (e.g., insurance claim hold time).
