  • Patent number: 10235659
Abstract: A system and method for making proceeds of a transaction available to a user before the transaction is completed is provided. The system may be part of an on-line system or traditional merchant configured to facilitate payments or fund transfers from users. In example embodiments, a request from a first entity to conduct a transaction involving a first value is received. Funds of the transaction are caused to be released prior to the transaction clearing a financial institution. Based on the transaction being rejected by the financial institution, at least a portion of the first value is charged against a credit source.

  • Patent number: 9818089
Abstract: A system and method for making funds of a transaction available to a user before a funding entry clears is provided. The system may be part of an on-line system configured to facilitate payments or fund transfers from users. In example embodiments, a transaction request from a user is received. A risk score indicating a perceived risk involved with releasing funds before the funding entry clears is computed. Funds of the transaction are caused to be released prior to the funding entry clearing a financial institution based on the risk score exceeding a transfer threshold.

  • Patent number: 8738526
Abstract: A system and method for making proceeds of an ACH (Automated Clearinghouse) transaction available to a user before the transaction is completed. The system may be part of an on-line system or traditional merchant configured to facilitate payments or fund transfers from users. A user requests the transfer of funds to an entity (e.g., another user, a merchant, the user's account with the system) via an ACH entry. The system calculates a risk associated with the user, while considering various data (e.g., number of previous ACH entries, how many failed, how many succeeded, amount of the transfer). If the risk is low enough, the ACH entry is initiated and the desired funds are released for the transfer even before the ACH entry clears. The ACH entry may be presented as a default choice for funding the transfer.

  • Patent number: 6203389
Abstract: Disclosed is a substantially rigid to semi-rigid, lightweight bodyboard, having a durable, slick outer skin on the lower surface, a conventional upper surface and a specially shaped lower surface for maximized speed, maneuverability, and performance. The lower surface of the bodyboard at the nose has a slightly rounded or elliptical shape that is almost a flat surface which changes to a shallow trimaran hull shape in the rear two thirds of the bodyboard. The shallow trimaran includes a center hull and two sidehulls each separated by a channel and is characterized by inverse sharp edged chines at the inside edges of the side hulls to provide grip, tracking and maneuverability. The shallow trimaran is also modified by edge skegs termed infins that end abruptly before the tail to provide the bodyboard incredible hold and eliminate slide out.

  • Patent number: 5391945
Abstract: A circuit and method for providing phase synchronization between an ECL output signal and a TTL or CMOS output signal has been provided. The circuit includes phase locked loops (20, 24) to make the difference of delays through an ECL-TTL/CMOS translation path with that of a straight ECL path irrelevant. As a result, in order to achieve phase synchronization between an ECL signal and a TTL/CMOS signal, one only needs to match the propagation delay of a delay component (22) to that of a TTL/CMOS-ECL translator (26) as opposed to a delay component and an ECL-TTL/CMOS translator.
