  • Patent number: 7366283
Abstract: An apparatus and method for an x-ray system includes an x-ray emitter having a first electrode and a second electrode. A high voltage supply is electrically connected to the first electrode. A power supply is electrically connected to the second electrode. A controller electrically connected to the high voltage supply and power supply is configured to provide a predetermined parameter to the second electrode during operation of the x-ray emitter to generate the predetermined dose rate from the x-ray emitter. During operation of the x-ray emitter, at least one operational value of the second electrode corresponding to the predetermined parameter is measured and combined with the predetermined parameter using an algorithm to obtain a modified predetermined parameter to be provided by the controller to the second electrode during a subsequent operation of the x-ray emitter.

  • Patent number: 7175345
Abstract: A dental x-ray apparatus (10) includes a tube head (11) formed from a cast zinc material. Structural components of tube head (11) include such component (20) formed from a plastic material impregnated with a high molecular weight substance, such as barium sulfite. X-ray apparatus 10 has a control panel (15) in close proximity to the tube head (11), and is preferably DC powered.

  • Patent number: 5535254
Abstract: A self-biased focus X-ray generating tube has a cathode assembly connected by its insert end to a multiplier from outside a vacuum envelope. The multiplier rectifies and multiplies AC power of the filament drive to provide a DC voltage, which is applied to the cathode assembly for pinching the electron beam traveling between the cathode and the anode target of X-ray tube and, as a result, improving the quality of the focal spot.
