  • Patent number: 11994501
Abstract: A method for ranking analytes includes the steps of analyzing an experimental analyte in a mass spectrometer. The method includes comparing the experimental analyte to a plurality of candidate analytes in a library hit list, and assigning a cumulative confidence score to each candidate analyte based on the steps of comparing the experimental analyte to the candidate analytes based on a library similarity score, comparing the experimental analyte to the candidate analytes based on of a presence of the most abundant isotope of a molecular ion and its mass, comparing the experimental analyte to the candidate analytes based on an abundance of fragment ions and a mass of the fragment ions, and, in some implementations, comparing the experimental analyte to the candidate analytes based on a retention index value. The method includes ranking the candidate analytes based on the cumulative confidence score of each candidate analyte.

  • Patent number: 10718558
Abstract: An auxiliary thermosiphon has an auxiliary refrigerant conduit with an auxiliary evaporation segment in thermally conductive connection to an interior wall of the freezer. The auxiliary refrigerant conduit contains an auxiliary refrigerant that is isolated from the primary refrigerant of the primary cooling apparatus. The auxiliary refrigerant conduit also extends upward to an auxiliary condensation segment of the auxiliary refrigerant conduit at an elevation above the auxiliary evaporation segment. A thermal bridge is in physical thermal contact with the auxiliary condensation segment and in physical thermal contact with a portion of a primary evaporation segment of the primary refrigeration apparatus. Heat is transported through the thermal bridge from the auxiliary thermosiphon to the primary refrigerant conduit and consequently to the primary refrigeration apparatus for removal from the freezer.

  • Patent number: 8966691
Abstract: A compact, folding tool permitting the exchange of implement sets, including one or more quick release mechanisms that are easily removed from a handle to release interchangeable implements; the tool further accommodating implement sets including different types and quantities of implements which are inhibited from rotating by an adjustable clamping force produced by the quick release mechanisms and optionally including over travel stops to obstruct implement rotation, or may rely solely on the clamping force provided by the quick release mechanisms to stabilize implements for use.

  • Patent number: 7529835
Abstract: Methods for altering content on a Web site in accordance with triggering events. Normal and alternate versions of Web site content are created, where the alternate version is a less complex and computationally expense and utilizes a reduced amount of bandwidth to be transmitted to users. When an event occurs, all or portions of the Web site are switched from the normal version to their respective alternate versions to reduce server load and bandwidth requirements so a high number of users can be served the pages. The switch from normal to alternate versions may be for all visitors of selected classes of visitors, such as those from certain geographic regions.

  • Patent number: 7212922
Abstract: A method of using climate data to determine activity index values for a given activity. One embodiment provides a method of more objectively determining the desirability of an activity based on climate data by determining an activity index value using a weighted-element type analysis. Multiple activity index values may be determined for different time periods and used to provide information useful in comparing the desirability of the different time periods for a given activity. The activity index values may be used to answer questions such as “what is the best month to visit Kingston, Jamaica” and “what is the worst season for allergies in Atlanta.
