  • Patent number: 8443071
Abstract: A data server system/method allowing cloud data server functionality in a coordinated/concerted fashion within network configurations that are local to and/or spanning network gateway routers is disclosed. The system may utilize a smart gateway power controller (SGPC) augmented with storage media and/or expansion slots to interact within a home automation network (HAN) to permit the local HAN to operate as a distinct network and allow access to locally stored data from remote networks such as the Internet. The system permits inter-networking of HAN devices (including SGPCs) and integration of data management within home automation networks while still providing access to HAN data via external remote networks such as the Internet. The system/method allows remote network access to HAN device data from local/remote access devices including mobile phones, tablet computers, laptops, desktop computers, and the like.

  • Patent number: 7509228
Abstract: A system and methods for estimating the size of a parcel based on a mathematical formula derived from other parcels within a size category. The system may include a variety of modules in communication with a relational database for storing data related to parcels being delivered. Similar data may be retrieved from a variety of sources with embodiments of the present invention prioritizing the data based on the reliability of the source. In a further aspect, equipment needs are forecasted by evaluating parcel data over a period of time.

  • Patent number: 7015823
Abstract: A physical barrier for a circuit board also functions as a tampering sensor or sensors monitored by electrical circuitry that generates a tamper signal for erasing information critical for the operation of the circuit board in the event of sensed tampering. One or more routing matrices configured in at least one programmable device is programmed to interconnect operating as well as optional dummy components on the board so that routing information is erased in the event of sensed tampering.

  • Patent number: 6764047
Abstract: A plurality of spaced apart, flexible string hinges pivotally join an airfoil of a model airplane to its corresponding flight control element. Such string hinges are shown in use for pivotally joining an aileron to a wing, a rudder to a tail fin and an elevator or flap to a horizontal stabilizer to permit rolling, yawing, and pitching movement, respectively, of the airplane when in flight. In one embodiment, a plurality of string hinges are connected by means of conventional airplane glue between a series of spaced apart blind holes formed in a leading edge portion of an aileron and similarly spaced apart reinforcing ribs of a wing. In another embodiment, a plurality of string hinges extend between blind holes formed in a solid balsa aileron and holes formed through a trailing edge spar of a wing and are secured at opposite ends by glue or epoxy. Examples of string hinges used to pivotally join a rudder to a tail fin and an elevator to a horizontal stabilizer in a model airplane are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5752638
Abstract: A rack for storing one or more pairs of water skis and wake boards including one or more pairs of forks having parallel prongs extending from and coplanar with a base plate section. The pairs of forks are mounted on a support bar extending through an opening in the base plate section and may be positioned axially along and orientationally around the bar then clamped in the selected position such that each fork is aligned with its pair member. Each pair of forks preferably has three prongs for stowing one pair of skis or two prongs for storing a wakeboard. A strap is provided for each neighboring pair of each fork having one end attached to an end of one of said neighboring pair of prongs and another end hookable to an end of the neighboring prong so that the strap may be stretched over a water ski or wakeboard nested between neighboring prongs thereby securing a pair of skis or wakeboards.
