  • Patent number: 10392140
Abstract: A fully automated pharmaceutical product packaging machine is capable of selectively depositing one or more different solid pharmaceutical products into an individual cavity for each of a plurality of individual patient product package cavities. The system employs a plurality of solid pharmaceutical product dispensing canisters which are capable of selectively dispensing a pre-designated number of solid pharmaceutical products. The machine fills a template containing temporary storage cavities and the template is automatically positioned over a sheet of clear plastic material containing a plurality of cavities corresponding to the cavities in the template. A barrier between the cavities in the template and the sheet of clear plastic material is moved and the pharmaceuticals in the template cavities drop into the corresponding cavities in the clear plastic sheet of material.

  • Publication number: 20080047227
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for altering a random three-dimensional orientation of solid pharmaceutical or nutraceutical products into either a two-dimensional arrangement of solid products or for transferring the solid products directly into one or more linear transmission channels. At least one elongated straight edge member is periodically vertically displaced into the mass of solid products and the displacement of this straight edge structure alone or in combination with other rotating or displaceable structures facilitate reorientation of the solid products.

  • Publication number: 20060277870
Abstract: An improved pharmaceutical dispensing system that allows direct transfer of doses from bulk blister packs into custom pharmaceutical packages in which medication doses are arranged by day of the week and/or time of day. In a preferred embodiment, the invention comprises a positioning mechanism that controls a de-blister apparatus. The de-blister apparatus comprises a de-blister means, such as a plunger, to remove individual doses from the blister pack and dispose them into a corresponding cavity of the custom pharmaceutical package. The apparatus may operate under manual or automatic control. Such an invention alleviates the operator from having to remove all of the medication doses from the blister pack before distributing the doses amongst the cavities of the custom pharmaceutical package.
