URLs associated with websites that ethically collect data are stored in a URL database, or the URLs are given a flag or score, such that these URLs need not be checked each time a new data partner identifies these URLs as the source of its data. The system may periodically re-check the URLs to ensure that no changes have been made to the corresponding website's data collection practices.

The SAR transmits a pulse via the first beam and receives backscatter energy. The SAR generates a first signal associated with the first beam and one or more second signals associated with the second beam(s). Abstract: A method for making carbon fiber in which the tensile strength of carbon fiber is increased without dehumidifying the ambient air that enters every oxidation oven in a multiple oxidation oven system. A positive effect on tensile strength is provided when ambient air entering only the first oven in a series of oxidation ovens is dehumidified. In addition, the ambient air entering the last oven is not dehumidified when one or more of the preceding oxidation ovens is operated with dehumidified air.

Then, a record queue can be monitored for the entry of new records. New records can be evaluated to determine whether they are associated with user-defined messaging configurations. For the records so associated, reports defined in the user-defined messaging configurations can be requested and used to create user-defined messages.

Abstract: Various techniques are provided to facilitate the identification of devices, such as smart light bulbs, ceiling fans, security systems, garage doors, and other devices whose functions may be automated or controlled remotely. Identification is done through visible light using existing light sources on target devices and existing image sensors on control devices. In one example, a user may point the camera sensor on their mobile phone at a smart light bulb. This light bulb is turning on and off faster than the human eye can detect, and it is sending a coded message that can be received and decoded by the camera sensor on the mobile phone. The light bulb is identified by the mobile phone, and the user may choose to turn the light on or off through the mobile phone's connection through a data network to the smart light bulb.

Abstract: A system and method retrieve an image using a first computer processor, and transmit the image from the first computer processor to a second remote computer processor. The first computer processor and the second remote computer processor are coupled via a network connection. The image is received at the network connection, and the image is a lightweight operating system that is configured to be stored in and execute in a virtual memory coupled to the second remote computer processor. The second remote computer processor is not equipped with additional hardware or an agent to receive or execute the image.

Abstract: An ESD protection circuit for a switching power converter which includes a high-side switching element connected between a supply voltage and the switching node, and a low-side switching element connected between the switching node and a common node. A current conduction path couples an ESD event that occurs on the switching node to an ESD sense node, and an ESD sensing circuit coupled to the sense node generates a trigger signal when an ESD event is sensed. A first logic gate keeps the high-side switching element off when the trigger signal indicates the sensing of an ESD event, and a second logic gate causes the low-side switching element to turn on when an ESD event is sensed such that the low-side switching element provides a conductive discharge path between the switching node and common node.
