  • Publication number: 20260143553
Abstract: A monitoring device and a method are provided for dynamically adjusting an idle interval for a Transmission Control Protocol Keepalive (TCPK) setting in a monitoring device of an electronic monitoring system. The monitoring device is connectable to an access point over a communications network utilizing Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). The initial idle interval for the TCPK of the monitoring device is programmed and a connection between the monitoring device and the access point over the communications network is established. A connection status of the communications network is monitored for failures and a count of the failures is maintained. If the count exceeds threshold, the initial idle interval is reduced by a selected time period to provide an updated idle interval.

  • Patent number: 10839659
Abstract: In an electronic video monitoring system for security and surveillance, a recording device can improve image quality, particularly in a night mode, while conserving battery power, by repeatedly activating an infrared (IR) light while capturing a video image, then deactivating the IR light and activating a visible light while capturing another video image, then blending the captured images to produce a blended video image. The blended video image can provide color in a foreground for improved detail where such detail is typically most important and grayscale in a background for effective monitoring of a broad field of view. The IR and visible lights can be controlled by Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) signals having duty cycles which can differ in various modes to achieve differing effects.

  • Patent number: 10297898
Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein describes integrating an antenna with a connector shroud of an electronic device used for conducting diagnostics. By integrating the antenna with the connector shroud, the device can be made smaller while still allowing for effective communication of results wirelessly to a remote system. In implementations such as On-board Diagnostics (OBD) II for motor vehicles, this may allow the device to remain present in the vehicle, conveniently while driving, for continuous monitoring and diagnostic feedback to a remote system, by consuming the least amount of space which may be needed by the driver.

  • Patent number: 10205234
Abstract: A method of operating an antenna system for a wireless device is provided for controlling radiation characteristics of the antenna system. The antenna system includes first and second sets of feed points disposed so that first and second radiation pattern are generated by the antenna system when drive currents are provided at the first and second set of feed points, respectively. The second radiation pattern is different from the first radiation pattern. The first and second drive currents are supplied such that a predetermined overall radiation pattern is generated. The predetermined overall radiation pattern is at least in part a combination of the first radiation pattern and the second radiation pattern. • Patent number: 5428314
Abstract: An input signal is split into two signals, one of which is provided to a distortion generator and a the other of which is provided to a three-way combiner. The distortion generator comprises a single composite amplifier stage having two nonlinear amplifiers and two 180 degree splitters. The amplifiers produce signals having both odd and even-order distortion components because the amplifiers exhibit non-linear behavior. The distortion generator produces two output signals, one of which consists of the fundamental signal and odd-order distortion components, and the other of which consists only of even-order distortion components. The three-way combiner combines these two signals with a portion of input signal at a phasing that produces a resultant output having both the odd and even-order distortions suppressed. Equalizers may be used to provide phase and/or amplitude compensation for the two signals produced by the distortion generator before providing them to the three-way combiner.
