  • Publication number: 20240147057
Abstract: A method of conserving a battery-powered electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device is wirelessly communicable with an access point over a wireless local area network. Also disclosed are an electronic device and a system for performing the method. The method includes causing a first control architecture to be in an idle state; while the first control architecture is in an idle state and with a second control architecture, receiving a beacon frame from the access point, the beacon frame including electronic device association information, checking the beacon frame if the electronic device is associated with the access point, and providing a wakeup signal to the first control architecture when the electronic device is dissociated. The method further includes communicating from the second control architecture to the first control architecture that the electronic device was dissociated from the access point.

  • Publication number: 20230237920
Abstract: An augmented reality training system provides immersive training scenarios, and uses a scenario management engine to assess scenario results and recommend appropriate subsequent scenarios. Scenario results may be assessed based upon comparison to doctrinal methods, expert performance, peer performance, or student past performance. Based upon assessments, a student may be presented with challenge appropriate subsequent scenarios. Determination of the challenge or complexity of scenarios for purposes of such recommendations may be accomplished by determination of an objective complexity or challenge metric that is based upon the results of scenario training across multiple students. One example of such a metric is a Shannon entropy metric, which calculates the unpredictability of a scenario by comparing actions taken during the scenario to a configured depth.

  • Patent number: 10839659
Abstract: In an electronic video monitoring system for security and surveillance, a recording device can improve image quality, particularly in a night mode, while conserving battery power, by repeatedly activating an infrared (IR) light while capturing a video image, then deactivating the IR light and activating a visible light while capturing another video image, then blending the captured images to produce a blended video image. The blended video image can provide color in a foreground for improved detail where such detail is typically most important and grayscale in a background for effective monitoring of a broad field of view. The IR and visible lights can be controlled by Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) signals having duty cycles which can differ in various modes to achieve differing effects.

  • Publication number: 20200020171
Abstract: A system for training a student in medical condition identification and intervention. The system can a wearable mixed reality device and a computing device. The wearable mixed reality device or the computing device has in memory executable instructions for: anchoring a virtual image of at least a portion of a virtual object to a fixed location, the fixed location being in a known relationship to a physical object; displaying the virtual image and one or more virtual critical cues in a 3D augmented reality view on the wearable mixed reality device and in a 2D augmented reality view on the computing device; and assessing a user's identification of the one or more virtual critical cues in the 3D augmented reality view by monitoring the 2D augmented reality view and determining by gaze tracking that one or more of the one or more virtual critical cues was viewed.

  • Patent number: 10297898
Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein describes integrating an antenna with a connector shroud of an electronic device used for conducting diagnostics. By integrating the antenna with the connector shroud, the device can be made smaller while still allowing for effective communication of results wirelessly to a remote system. In implementations such as On-board Diagnostics (OBD) II for motor vehicles, this may allow the device to remain present in the vehicle, conveniently while driving, for continuous monitoring and diagnostic feedback to a remote system, by consuming the least amount of space which may be needed by the driver.

  • Patent number: 10205234
Abstract: A method of operating an antenna system for a wireless device is provided for controlling radiation characteristics of the antenna system. The antenna system includes first and second sets of feed points disposed so that first and second radiation pattern are generated by the antenna system when drive currents are provided at the first and second set of feed points, respectively. The second radiation pattern is different from the first radiation pattern. The first and second drive currents are supplied such that a predetermined overall radiation pattern is generated. The predetermined overall radiation pattern is at least in part a combination of the first radiation pattern and the second radiation pattern. The system and method may be directed toward Specific Absorption of Radiation (SAR) mitigation.
