    Abstract: Disclosed is a window and lock assembly for releasably locking a sash component of a window in a closed position with respect to a frame component; wherein the lock assembly includes two catches mounted on said frame component at spaced apart positions. The catches are rotatably movable between locked and unlocked positions, wherein a slide bar connects the two catches. Rotation of the first catch causes rotation of the second catch, wherein in the unlocked position the first catch is rotationally closer to the first keeper than the second catch is to the second keeper.

    Abstract: A joint structure for connecting framing components such as sash members for a window is disclosed having separate functional and decorative junctions between adjacent framing components. The functional junction between components may be formed between opposing and abutting mitered mating surfaces defined at adjacent ends of the component, and a separate squared flange and cooperative recess may be formed on interior surfaces of the components for overlapping the mating surfaces and providing a decorative junction, for example, having the appearance of a mortise and tenon joint. The joint structure is particularly suited for use in custom or replacement applications whereby lineal extruded members formed of a heat weldable material may be cut to size having the aforementioned surfaces, and then heat welded together to form a custom sized framing structures such as a sash or frame for a window or door.

Each channel (515) has a similar, half-dovetail profile (560), and a frame extending member (520) is associated with each channel. Each frame extending member (520) has a profile that includes a first portion (501) which is rotatable into engagement with a respective channel, and a second portion (650a) which extends in the desired direction when the first portion (501) is retained within the channel (515).

Elongate stops are secured along opposite sides of the slideable sash and are moveable between first positions interengaging a respective side of the frame and second positions free of engagement with the frame. When the stops are in their first positions, the sash is constrained to move in a linear path relative to the frame. When the stops are in their second position, the sash is free to pivot relative to the frame about pins or similar structure extending between the sash and the frame.
