Patent number: 10214361Abstract: We disclose an apparatus for maintaining a flow of grain moving toward a rotating sweep conveyor. A rake extends longitudinally along the sweep. The rake is disposed along the leading sidewall of the sweep such that the rake is in the path of movement of the sweep as the sweep rotates within the bin. The rake has a plurality of projections that protrude from a shaft. A reciprocating drive assembly is connected to the driven roller and to the shaft. The reciprocating drive assembly causes the shaft to move forward and backward along the longitudinal axis of the sweep. The reciprocating shaft movement causes the projections to engage grain piles in the path of the sweep, causing the pile to collapse into a flowable particulate to be received by the sweep.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2017Date of Patent: February 26, 2019Assignee: Illinois Grain & Seed, Inc.Inventors: Todd W. Kaeb, Andrew L. Stock, Nathan L. Kaeb

Patent number: 10081505Abstract: A bin wall cleaner for a sweep conveyors and augers for removing residual grain located near the bin wall out of reach of the sweep conveyor and providing sweep coverage for non-uniform bin walls. The bin wall cleaner has a grain engagement member that extends outwardly from the distal end of the sweep. A biasing member maintains the grain engagement member extended toward the bin wall. A wall engagement member is attached to the grain engagement member to ensure the bin wall cleaner tracks with the bin wall. The grain engagement member extends by pivoting or telescoping at least one blade.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2017Date of Patent: September 25, 2018Assignee: Illinois Grain & Seed, Inc.Inventors: Todd W. Patent number: 9862545Abstract: We disclose a roller guard with discharge for friction-driven sweep conveyors. This disclosure limits the introduction of particulate matter into the interface between a driven roller and an inner surface of a continuous conveyor belt. The roller guard assembly is mounted between an upper belt portion and a lower belt portion near the drive roller and has a retaining wall member oriented at an angle that is neither parallel with nor at a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the belt and at such an angle that particulates carried on the inner surface of the lower belt portion are directed toward the discharge aperture in the first sidewall.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2016Date of Patent: January 9, 2018Assignee: Illinois Grain & Seed, Inc.Inventors: Todd W. Patent number: 7544031Abstract: A power sweep for an agricultural grain bin includes a powered belt conveyor adapted to unload the grain when desired. The inboard end of the belt conveyor includes an idler roller which is frictionally coupled to the inner surface of the belt and, through a power transmission, may be actuated, by means of a clutch, to drive a power sweep for cleaning residual grain from the bottom of the storage bin after the belt conveyor has removed the bulk of the grain.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2005Date of Patent: June 9, 2009Assignee: KSI Conveyors, Inc.Inventors: Todd W. Kaeb, Steven R. Walder

Patent number: 7500817Abstract: A trailer having support wheels and a frame adapted to be hitched to a truck, includes a support track extending longitudinally for supporting an unload conveyor. The conveyor is mounted by a turret to the support track and, thus, to the trailer frame, permitting the turret to move in a fore-to-aft direction, as well as to rotate about the vertical for about 180°, providing flexibility in use as well as transport and storage. A support module, carrying at least one storage container is mounted on the trailer frame. The storage containers may be provided in a number of different sizes and they may be arranged in various configurations suiting the user's needs. The turret is positioned along the track beneath a desired seed container, which may then be unloaded by the conveyor to fill a planter seed box or grain drill, or for other seed handling applications.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2006Date of Patent: March 10, 2009Assignee: KSI Conveyors, Inc.Inventors: G. Jason Furrer, Todd W. Kaeb, Steven R. Walder
