Abstract: A color copying apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes: a scanner for scanning an original to form a plurality of electrostatic latent images corresponding to color components of an image of the original; developing devices for converting the electrostatic latent images formed by the scanner to toner images of different colors; a rotating unit on which the toner images obtained by the conversion are superposed; a detector for detecting a rotating position of the rotating unit; a controller for controlling start timing of the scanner in response to a detection output of the detector; and a regulator for regulating the start timing for each of the toner images.
