  • Patent number: 5848775
Abstract: A seat slide device comprises a rail unit consisting of upper and lower guide rails and rollers disposed between the upper and lower guide rails. The upper guide rail includes a substantially channeled member consisting of a downwardly-opening, channeled portion, a vertical portion extending vertically and longitudinally from an upper wall of the downwardly-opening, channeled portion, and flanged portions formed at lower ends of both side walls of the downwardly-opening, channeled portion. The flanged portions of the upper guide rail are slidably engaged with the respective flanged portions of the lower guide rail when assembling. The vertical portion, the downwardly-opening, channeled portion, and the flanged portions of the upper guide rail are integrally formed by bending a piece of metal sheet. The vertical portion is formed by doubling over the metal sheet at an essentially center of the metal sheet.

  • Patent number: 5806824
Abstract: A vehicular seat adjuster has a pair of rail units for adjustably sliding a vehicular seat in the fore-and-aft direction and a lifting mechanism for adjustably moving up and down the seat. The lifting mechanism is installed to the rail unit and includes a front lifting section disposed under a front portion of the seat for vertically moving a front portion of a seat according to an operation of a front motor unit and a rear lifting unit disposed under a rear portion of the seat for vertically moving a rear portion of the seat according to an operation of a rear motor unit. The front and rear motor units are swingably supported to a shaft member, which is rotatably supported to the pair of seat rails.

  • Patent number: 5765798
Abstract: In order to neatly locate an electric drive mechanism under a seat, a unique measure is applied to a power seat slide device. An upper rail has an upper vertical flange through which the seat is secured to the upper rail. The vertical upper flange has a part mounting portion which extends forward beyond a front end of the upper rail. A recess is formed in the part mounting portion, which faces downward. A speed reduction gear box is neatly received in the recess and secured to the part mounting portion through a locking pin. An electric motor has one end secured to the gear box and the other end projected in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the upper rail runs. A screw shaft extends from the gear box and extends in and along the upper rail. A nut member is secured to the lower rail and operatively engaged with the screw shaft.

  • Patent number: 5487520
Abstract: A power seat slide device comprises a lower rail; an upper rail slidably engaged with the lower rail; an elongate threaded bolt member rotatably carried by the upper rail through first and second supporting members; a nut member connected to the lower and rail and meshed with the bolt member so that rotation of the bolt member about its axis induces a longitudinal movement of the upper rail relative to the lower rail; an electric power device for rotating the bolt member with an aid of electric power; a front shock absorbing member slidably mounted on the bolt member between the first supporting member and the nut member; and a rear shock absorbing member slidably mounted on the bolt member between the second supporting member and the nut member.

  • Patent number: 5348262
Abstract: A seat slide device includes a stationary rail and a movable rail. The stationary rail has a first bottom wall portion, first inside wall portions vertically upwardly extending from side ends of the first bottom wall portion, upper wall portions outwardly extending from upper ends of the first inside wall portions, and first outside wall portions vertically downwardly extending from outer ends of the upper wall portions. Each of the upper wall portions is grooved at a major portion thereof for receiving ball bearings thereon and convexly curved at a rear end portion thereof. The major portion and the rear end portion are united.

  • Patent number: 5273242
Abstract: A powered seat slide device including at least one pair of guide rails for slidably supporting a seat such that the position of the seat relative to a floor is adjusted frontwardly and rearwardly, comprises a drive motor causing a relative sliding movement of one of the guide rails to the other, through a driving mechanism employing a gear box fixed to the one of the rails to serve as a reduction gear transmitting rotation torque from the motor to a screw-threaded shaft which is fixed onto the one of rails and engaged with a nut member rigidly mounted on the other rail for rotation relative to the screw-threaded shaft, while reducing a motor speed and increasing torque created by the motor, a motor mounting bracket formed integral with the gear box, for directly connecting the motor to the gear box, and an opening provided in the side wall of the one of rails, for avoiding the interference between the motor assembly and the guide rails.

  • Patent number: 5150872
Abstract: A power seat slide device includes a pair of parallel stationary rails and a pair of parallel movable rails axially slidably engaged with the stationary rails. The movable rail and the stationary rail are assembled to define therebetween an elongate tunnel which extends along a common axis of the stationary and movable rails. A threaded shaft is housed in the elongate tunnel and has both ends rotatably supported by the movable rail. A nut is received in the elongate tunnel and fixed to the stationary rail. The threaded shaft is operatively engaged with the nut so that rotation of the threaded shaft about its axis induces a longitudinal movement of the movable rail relative to the stationary rail. An electric motor is mounted on the movable rail and has a drive shaft. A gear mechanism is arranged between the drive shaft and the threaded shaft for transmitting a power of the drive shaft to the threaded shaft. A gear housing houses therein the gear mechanism.
