  • Patent number: 6924591
Abstract: An implosion preventing band for a cathode ray tube includes a main band formed around an outer surface of a skirt of a face panel, and including a pair of long sides provided on opposite sides of the skirt in a direction corresponding to long sides of a screen, a pair of short sides provided on opposite sides of the skirt in a direction corresponding to short sides of a screen, and corners formed between the long sides and the short sides to interconnect the same; and degaussing coil supports formed raised from the main band on long and short sides of the main band, and each having formed one or more openings that allow passage in a direction of a width of the main band, a degaussing coil(s) being supported using the openings. A plurality of the openings is formed continuously in the degaussing coil supports in a circumferential direction of the main band.

  • Publication number: 20040179321
Abstract: A CRT (cathode-ray tube) degaussing circuit comprises: an AC (alternating current) power source; a PTC (positive temperature characteristic) resistor; a heat sense switch, provided as a single unit with the PTC resistor for controlling the current flow of the entire circuit so as to be turned on/off according to a surface temperature of the PTC resistor; and a degaussing coil for demagnetizing metallic components of the CRT when the current is applied. The AC power source, the PTC resistor, the degaussing coil, and the heat sense switch form a closed-loop circuit, and the heat sense switch is connected thereto so as to turn on/off the current flow in the closed-loop circuit.

  • Patent number: 6791249
Abstract: A cathode ray tube includes an evacuated envelope including a face panel, a funnel, and a neck; a color selection apparatus mounted inwardly from the face panel; an electron gun mounted within the neck; a magnetic shield mounted connected to the color selection apparatus; and degaussing coils mounted to an outer surface of the evacuated envelope. A degaussing current flowing to the degaussing coils has a waveform such that a line connecting a peak A from where a maximum current value first starts to decrease and a peak G of a sixth cycle is a functional curve of a second degree or greater.

  • Patent number: 6686695
Abstract: A cathode ray tube includes a tube having a panel, a funnel, and a neck, a color selection apparatus mounted to the panel within the tube, an inner shield connected to the color selection apparatus. The inner shield includes a plurality of side walls that form a center opening through which electron beams pass, and at least one degaussing coil mounted at outer surface of the tube. The degaussing coil includes a first coil mounted toward the panel, a second coil mounted toward the neck, and a third coil connected to ends of the first coil and the second coil to interconnect the first coil and the second coil. The second coil is mounted on the tube in a state substantially overlapping distal edge portions of the side walls of the inner shield on which the second coil is mounted.
