  • Patent number: 4795605
Abstract: A nuclear fusion apparatus comprises a central support stay device having a central support stay portion and a plurality of radial portions radially extending from the central support stay portion and circumferentially spaced from each other at predetermined angles, a plurality of poloidal coils disposed in the circumferential direction of the central support stay device and supported by the radial portions, and a plurality of toroidal coils radially disposed around the central support stay device and adjacent the radial outer ends of the radial portions.

  • Patent number: 4751470
Abstract: A charged particle accelerating apparatus has a vacuum chamber for transporting, accelerating, deflecting or storing charged particles. A layer of a low gas-generating material is placed in the vacuum chamber at a position where radiation generated by deflection of the charged particles are irradiated, the low gas-generating material having properties of generating an amount of gas less than a material constituting the vacuum chamber.

  • Patent number: 4631382
Abstract: An electrical discharge machining apparatus having an improved bed which provides improved control over the gap between a machining head and a workpiece by reducing the amount of deformation produced in the bed when the table and saddle are moved. The bed is constituted by an upper plate and side plates, with saddle guide rails being disposed on the upper plate, a saddle movably mounted on the saddle guide rails, table guide rails mounted on the saddle, and a workpiece-supporting table movably mounted on the saddle guide rails. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, the saddle guide rails are positioned at the edges of the upper plate, directly above the side plates of the bed. In another embodiment, reinforcing members are provided under the upper plate, extending parallel to and directly under respective ones of guide rails.

  • Patent number: 4534206
Abstract: The present invention relates to an insulation diagnosis technique for the coil of a generator or the like, especially a strike diagnosis apparatus for diagnosing the good or bad condition of insulation by comparing, directly or after a suitable processing signal, the magnitude of a strike signal applied to the generator's coil with a reference level, or by making a frequency analysis of the strike signal.

  • Patent number: 4502329
Abstract: The disclosure describes a method for checking an insulative condition of an insulated winding used in an electrical appliance comprising applying an external mechanical force to said insulated winding to give vibrating frequency to the same for its examination; detecting the frequency behavior to be generated in said insulated winding in the form of electrical signal outputs; and electrically processing the signals for judging deterioration occurred in said insulated winding.
