  • Patent number: 6061886
Abstract: A turbine blade fitting apparatus for fitting multiple turbine blades radially to a disc having multiple disc grooves formed in its periphery. A blade preassembly is made by preassembling multiple turbine blades into a ring by connecting together their tips. The fitting apparatus has a second pedestal for temporarily placing the blade preassembly so that the upper face of the blade preassembly is higher than the upper face of a disc supported horizontally on a first pedestal. The second pedestal is lowerably supported by compression springs. Base parts of the blades are completely fitted into the disc grooves by the blade preassembly being pushed downward by a pushing mechanism while being vibrated.

  • Patent number: 5992007
Abstract: An apparatus for covering a plurality of permanent magnets on a rotor with a cylindrical sleeve has a movable jig, a holder jig having a plurality of insertion grooves for inserting therein the permanent magnets disposed in grooves of the rotor, the holder jig and the movable jig being pressable partly into an insertion end of the cylindrical sleeve, a plurality of resilient members disposed in the insertion grooves for pressing the permanent magnets against the outer circumferential surface of the rotor, and a presser device for inserting the movable jig, together with the rotor and the permanent magnets into the cylindrical sleeve under the guidance of the holder jig. The permanent magnets on the rotor are reliably and efficiently covered with the cylindrical sleeve without the need for an adhesive to secure the permanent magnets to the rotor.

  • Patent number: 5687471
Abstract: Permanent magnets disposed on the outer circumferential surface of a yoke are reliably and efficiently covered with a cylindrical member of fiber-reinforced resin. A covering apparatus has a holding jig for being forced into an insertion end of the cylindrical member and guiding a rotor when the rotor is inserted into the cylindrical member, and a movable jig for being forced with the holding jig into the cylindrical member, engaging a leading end of the rotor, and being inserted together with the rotor into the cylindrical member. The holding jig and the movable jig have teeth for forcibly expanding the cylindrical member radially outwardly to a diameter greater than the diameter of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 5201116
Abstract: A process for measuring an unbalance of a torque converter, in which an outer member and an inner member of the torque converter are assembled, and oil is filled into the outer member to establish a condition similar to an actual service state of the torque converter. In this condition, the two members are rotated in unison. If the rotational speed of the torque converter reaches a measuring rotational speed, a plurality of measurements are conducted with the phase of the outer and inner members being varied between each measurement through a predetermined angle, thereby correctly detecting only an unbalance due to the outer member, with an unbalance due to the inner member being canceled from the results of the measurements. Cutting a balance weight having a weight sufficient to correct the detected unbalance from a metal tape and attached said cut balance weight to an outer periphery of the outer member of the torque converter at a given position by spot-welding or adhesive-bonding.

  • Patent number: 5081873
Abstract: An inner member of a constant-velocity joint is continuously tilted with respect to an outer member thereof up to a maximum tilt angle while the inner member is rotating. From data including tilt angles and torques which are measured when the inner member is tilted, and also from maximum and minimum torque values at the maximum tilt angle which are detected from the measured data, there is calculated a pair of curves indicative of the maximum and minimum torque values of the inner member at the respective tilt angles. Maximum and minimum torque values at a given tilt angle of the inner member are then calculated from the calculated curves, and then compared with the predetermined reference values, thereby determining whether the constant-velocity joint is good or not.

  • Patent number: 4864858
Abstract: A wheel attached to a vehicle body via a suspension mechanism including an unsprung member is placed on and rotated by a rotating drum. A phase detector detects the rotational phase of the rotating wheel. A support table positioned adjacent the rotating drum is movable on three mutually perpendicular axes. A spring plate mounted on the support table is placed in resilient contact with a measuring surface of the unsprung member. The spring plate vibrates in response to vibration of the unsprung member in the longitudinal direction which in turn vibrates in response to wheel unbalance. A displacement detector on the support table includes a light source and light receiving elements which detect vibration of the spring plate caused by movement of the unsprung member in the longitudinal direction and thus detect wheel unbalance.
