  • Patent number: 7173397
Abstract: A battery performance monitoring system anticipates the sudden fall of battery output. The system measures the battery voltage at a time point when the discharge current of a battery becomes smaller than the reference current value or at a time point when the current to the load which is connected to the battery becomes smaller than the reference current value, and judges the battery to be abnormal if the difference of the measured battery voltage from the approximate formula in regard to the current-voltage relation in the former half of a same discharge event becomes out of the reference range.

  • Patent number: 7009401
Abstract: Motor generator (MG) is controlled via motor controller by MG control processor of CPU, so that voltage and current of battery is detected while changing frequency of state detection current flowing in the secondary battery. According to the detection results, impedance is calculated in the impedance calculation unit. Remaining mount is calculated from the impedance obtained and the battery characteristics stored in memory. Furthermore, remaining amount change correction unit adds integration current between impedance measurements to the remaining amount for correcting the remaining amount. Weighting coefficient is determined from the standard deviation based on the corrected value and the remaining amount and weighted mean is calculated in weighted mean unit. Next, the result of the remaining amount calculation is used to perform service life calculation and service life correction calculation, and weighted mean is calculated in the same way as the remaining amount.

  • Publication number: 20050221191
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to inhibit intergranular corrosion of a lead alloy by grain refining, and to prolong the life and improve the reliability of a lead battery using the alloy for a positive current collector in the battery. The intergranular corrosion of the lead alloy is inhibited by adding Sr to a Pb—Sn alloy to refine a cast structure and the recrystallized structure of a rolled material, and the hardness is improved by further adding Ca, Ba and Te. In addition, the rolled sheet of the lead alloy is used in the positive current collector of the lead storage battery.
