    Abstract: A fixing device includes an annular and rotatable fixing member, a contact member, at least one temperature sensing unit, and a processor. The fixing member has an outer peripheral surface that comes into contact with a recording medium. The fixing member fixes an image on the recording medium onto the recording medium. The contact member is in contact with an inner peripheral surface of the fixing member, and extends in an axial direction of the fixing member. The at least one temperature sensing unit senses a temperature of a lubricant adhering to the inner peripheral surface of the fixing member. The processor controls rotation of the fixing member on a basis of a temperature sensed by the at least one temperature sensing unit.
