  • Publication number: 20020043925
Abstract: A light emitting phosphor material for an alternating current thin-film electroluminescent (ACTFEL) device and/or an ACTFEL device includes the phosphor material sandwiched between a pair of dielectric layers suitable to substantially prevent DC current from flowing therebetween. The phosphor material is comprised of, in one aspect of the present invention, the formula MIIS:Eu,Cu, wherein MII is strontium, S is sulphur, Eu is europium, Cu is copper. In another aspect of the present invention, the phosphor material is comprised of the formula MIIS:Eu,Cu, wherein MII is calcium, S is sulphur, Eu is europium, Cu is copper. In yet another aspect of the present invention, the phosphor material is comprised of the formula MIIS:Eu,Cu, wherein MII is strontium and calcium, S is sulphur, Eu is europium, Cu is copper. In a further aspect of the present invention, the phosphor material is comprised of the formula MIIS:Mn,Cu, wherein MII is strontium, S is sulphur, Mn is manganese, Cu is copper.

  • Patent number: 5725462
Abstract: The reciprocal inhibition exercise device has a leg beam attached perpendicular to a bottom cross member. The bottom cross member is part of a frame structure which has the bottom cross member attached to a back support member and a front support member. This part of the frame rests on the floor where the user wishes to use the exercise device. Additionally, the front support member has a front vertical support member attached and an exercise grip bar is attached between the front vertical support member and the back support member. The leg beam has a pair of foot pad slides which are attached to a spring or elastic strap which are then attached a leg beam middle plate. The foot pad slides have rotatable stirrups attached to a foot pad pedestal. The exercise device may also have a front grip bar and a back grip bar attached.

  • Patent number: 5398418
Abstract: A circular or bar-type slide rule made of a durable rigid material for converting a golf handicap index into a converted playing handicap based upon the slope rating of a golf course. A method for calculating a converted playing handicap by aligning the player's handicap index value on a first logarithmic scale, locating the golf course slope rate on a second logarithmic scale so that the aligned value of the converted playing handicap may be read on the first scale.

  • Patent number: 5297640
Abstract: An improved drilling drill collar particularly for use in drilling horizontal wells employing a fluid driven drill, the drill collar being in the form of an elongated intermediate portion of at least substantially triangular cross-sectional configuration and having a central passageway therethrough and having externally threaded ends, the intermediate portion being formed of a lightweight metal, such as aluminum, magnesium or alloys therefore, a first tubular tool joint member threadably secured to the intermediate portion first end and a second tubular tool joint member threadably secured to the intermediate portion second end, one of the tool joint members having female threads and the other external threads so that thereby joints may be threadably secured end-to-end, the tool joint members being of a stronger metal, such as steel, the triangular configuration of the drill collar permitting free flow of well drilling circulation fluid as the drill collar lies in a horizontal borehole.

  • Patent number: 5095992
Abstract: The process for installing casing in a well including the steps of suspending a string of casing in a well leaving an annular area exterior of the casing, depositing barite into the annular area, and permitting the barite to settle and pack in the annular area to thereby anchor the casing.

  • Patent number: 4921129
Abstract: A disposable liquid dispensing module in the form of a hollow plastic container for holding liquid, such as a cleaning solution or soap, has at least one liquid level sensing probe permanently mounted in it. The module is made to be inserted into a lavage machine or similar apparatus and includes a connector to which a connection plug having a liquid withdrawal pipe and connectors to the liquid level sensing probe is attached. The pipe is connected to an elongated flexible tube and the connectors for the liquid level sensing probe are connected to flexible wires, so that the plug including these components may be attached to the container outside the lavage machine in which it is used. When the level of liquid falls below a predetermined threshold, a signal is provided to the apparatus indicating that replacement of the container is to be made. The entire module then is withdrawn and the plug to the apparatus is disconnected.

  • Patent number: 4909242
Abstract: An expandable cuff assembly encloses a circular opening in the front panel of a lavage machine. The opening is made large enought to permit arms of a user to be inserted freely through the opening. After this is done, the expandable cuff member is filled with air to cause it to expands from a first state, having an enlarged opening through it, to a second state where it resiliently closes against the arm of the user to prevent liquid from splashing out of the lavage machine during use. After the operation of the machine is completed, the expandable cuff member returns to its first state, with a large opening therethrough to permit withdrawal of the arms of the user freely through the enlarged opening.

  • Patent number: 4802508
Abstract: A system which is particularly useful for use with lavage hand and arm washing machines supplies pulsating jets of water alternately to a first bank of nozzles (for the right hand) and a second bank of nozzles (for the left hand) without causing on/off shocks to be applied to the water supply system. This is accomplished by supplying the water from the water supply (either from a pump and reservoir or a municipal water supply) to the inlet of a rotating distributor located inside a housing. Outlet pipes for the two banks of nozzles are located on diametrically opposite sides of the housing and communicate with the interior. The distributor is designed to increase the flow through one of the outlets while simultaneously decreasing the flow to the other outlet by a corresponding amount, in a manner which produces a sinusoidal pulsation of the water flow out of each of the banks of nozzles. The flow through the first bank of nozzles, however, is 180.degree.
