  • Patent number: 11959405
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to a valve seat (20) for a poppet valve of an internal combustion engine, wherein the poppet valve comprises a head and a stem behind the head, the valve seat comprising: an aperture (21) configured to form a seal with the head of the poppet valve when the poppet valve is in a closed position; and a peripheral body (22) defining, at least in part, one or more ports (23) shaped like e.g. grooves and sized to enable injection of liquid or gas from a cylinder head of the internal combustion engine into a gas stream behind the head of the poppet valve.

  • Patent number: 4821367
Abstract: A recovery chamber for collection of dirt-laden fluid in a spray-type vacuum cleaning apparatus. The apparatus has a container for collection of the fluid, a vacuum source located at the bottom of the container and an open-ended riser tube centrally mounted in the container and connected in fluid-tight fashion to the vacuum source. The chamber includes an outer housing having a roof portion and an annular side portion. The housing is adapted to cover and be seated on the container. An inner chamber is included which has an annular wall affixed at its top portion to the underside of the roof portion of the outer housing. A fluid entry port is mounted on the side portion of the outer housing facing the annular wall of the inner chamber. The port is for connection to a hose and nozzle for dirt and fluid intake. A float mechanism is mounted on a lower portion of the inner chamber wall and alongside the riser tube.

  • Patent number: 4821364
Abstract: A fluid control valve includes a deformable conduit for fluid with a valve control port at a point of fluid entry to the conduit. The valve control port includes a spring-biased device for keeping the port closed to fluid in an unactuated valve state. A support element is disposed within the conduit downstream of the valve control port. The support element also permits fluid flow therethrough. A trigger mechanism is disposed within the conduit between the valve control port and the support element; the mechanism includes an elongated bar having a deformable irregularity. The bar extends from the support element to the port closing device, with the end of the bar contacting the port closing device with a low level of force in an unactuated state of the valve.
