  • Patent number: 11109947
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for performing an optical three-dimensional recording by using hand-held dental camera. The camera automatically records a plurality of individual optical recordings in succession at a defined frequency during the measurement. The individual three-dimensional optical recordings are combined into an overall recording of a dental object to be measured and before the measurement is performed, a three-dimensional standard jaw model is displayed using a display device and a first control point on the standard jaw model is displayed using the display device. The hand-held dental camera is then positioned in relation to the object to be recorded in such a way that the camera points at the first control point of the standard jaw model and records a corresponding recording region of the dental object.

  • Publication number: 20180240270
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for recording individual three-dimensional optical images to form a global image of a tooth situation comprising an upper jaw and a lower jaw. A first 3D model of a first subsection of the upper jaw and a second 3D model of a second subsection of the lower jaw are produced from the individual images. Subsequently, a geometric positional relationship between the first 3D model and the second 3D model is determined, said positional relationship being determined by using a lateral image and/or using a contact pattern. Said lateral image comprises an image area which comprises at least part of the first subsection of the upper jaw and at least part of the second subsection of the lower jaw. Said contact pattern comprises several contact areas between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. Said contact pattern is measured by means of an occlusion paper.

  • Patent number: 9978172
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for recording individual three-dimensional optical images (1) to form a global image (50) of a tooth situation comprising an upper jaw (2) and a lower jaw (3). A first 3D model (6) of a first subsection of the upper jaw and a second 3D model (8) of a second subsection of the lower jaw are produced from the individual images. Subsequently, a geometric positional relationship between the first 3D model (6) and the second 3D model (8) is determined, said positional relationship being determined by using a lateral image (20, 21, 22) and/or using a contact pattern (31, 32). Said lateral image (20, 21, 22) comprises an image area which comprises at least part of the first subsection of the upper jaw (2) and at least part of the second subsection of the lower jaw (3). Said contact pattern comprises several contact areas (31, 32) between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. Said contact pattern (30, 31, 32) is measured by means of an occlusion paper (29).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for performing an optical three-dimensional recording by using a hand-held dental camera, wherein the camera automatically records a plurality of individual optical recordings in succession at a defined frequency during the measurement, wherein the individual three-dimensional optical recordings are combined by means of registration into an overall recording of a dental object to be measured. Before the measurement is performed, a three-dimensional standard jaw model is displayed by means of a display device, wherein a first control point on the standard jaw model is displayed by means of the display device. The hand-held dental camera is then positioned in relation to the object to be recorded in such a way that the camera points at the first control point (10) of the standard jaw model and records a corresponding recording region of the dental object.
