    Abstract: A process for hydrolyzing triglyceride having its carboxylic acid moieties containing from 6 to 26 carbon atoms involves reacting with water in the presence of low molecular weight displacing acid catalyst, strong acid catalyst and sufficient water to form water and oil phases, to produce carboxylic acids corresponding to said moieties and glycerine.
