  • Patent number: 4429860
Abstract: An apparatus and method including a runner system for transferring molten metal from a blast furnace to transfer cars. The runner system comprises a single main runner with primary and secondary outlets. In the preferred embodiment the secondary outlet is a nozzle positioned midway between the lower end of the runner and the blast furnace.
