Abstract: A system for model validation comprises an input interface, a model builder, a model validator, a model committer, and an attachment point. The input interface is for receiving a set of input data, wherein a first input data of the set of input data is associated with a first model level validation and a first attachment point. The model builder is for determining a model that is used to update a database based at least in part on the set of input data. The model validator is for determining whether the model is valid using model validations, wherein the model validations include the first model level validation. The model committer is for committing the model in the event the model is valid. The attachment point determiner is for determining a failure associated attachment point in the event the model is not valid, wherein the failure associated attachment point comprises the first attachment point in the event that the first model level validation failed.

Abstract: A method of performing message operations includes receiving a message operation request identifying a queue, retrieving a list of the subset of partitions associated with the alias received in the request, and selecting at least one of the partitions within the retrieved subset. According to the method, the queue includes a plurality of partitions, the request identifies the queue with an alias, and the alias having a subset of the plurality of partitions associated therewith.

Abstract: A method for preferential reply routing, the method includes: receiving a request-reply message from a requesting application; detecting there is a preferred partition of a reply queue managed locally to an application server to which the requesting application is connected; qualifying a name of a reply queue stored in the request-reply message so that the name refers to the local partition that is managed locally to the application server; determining whether the local partition is available; wherein in the event the local partition is available: storing a reply message in the local partition; and retrieving the reply message from the local partition in response to the requesting application.

Abstract: A medical-monitoring diary device comprising a housing, a display supported by the housing, a wrist strap extending from the housing such that the diary can be worn on a user's wrist, a processor housed within the housing coupled to the display, and a memory coupled to the processor in which the diary comprises at least one slider and one input button coupled to the processor for receiving inputs from the user, for storage in the memory, and the processor controls the display for displaying messages to be viewed by the user.

Abstract: A field-installable rod guide for a rod moveable within an oilfield tubular having an interior tubular surface for driving a downhole pump to pump liquids to the surface through the oilfield tubular. The rod guide comprises a body including interfitting body members. An outer tapered surface on one body member is engaged by an inner taper-engagement surface on the other body member, to urge the body members toward a rod gripping position about the rod. The mechanism disclosed provides a particularly strong engagement with the rod, so that the rod guide may be used for either reciprocating or rotating rods. For rotating type rod guides, an outer sleeve may be included about the body.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus are provided for transmitting information between a monitor and a remote computer. The monitor comprises a sensor coupled to a memory for logging data output by the sensor over time. The information transmission method includes the steps of interfacing the monitor to a base station for transmitting the information between the monitor and the base station, and transmitting the information between the base station and the remote computer by means of a text message or pager message. In this way, information can be transmitted in both directions, either from the monitor to the remote computer or from the remote computer to the monitor.

Abstract: A compressor for providing automatic capacity modulation is disclosed. The compressor comprises a compression chamber, a compressing member, a reexpansion area, a flow passage, a valve member, and a biasing member. The flow passage is in fluid communication with the compression chamber and the reexpansion area. In one position, the valve member permits flow through the flow passage and in a second position it prevents flow. The valve member is subjected to a first operating condition of fluid on one side and a second operating condition of the fluid on the other side. The biasing member exerts a biasing force on the valve member. When the first operating condition reaches a predetermined point relative to the second operating condition, the valve member moves and effects a change in the capacity of the compressor.

Abstract: An alarm system (10) for use in a vehicle such as a bicycle, motorbike, quad bike or the like, comprising a base (12) on which is mounted a vibration sensor (14), a microprocessor (16) and a sounder (18). A power supply (20), consisting of two rechargeable batteries (22) are connected to the base (12) to provide power to the vibration sensor (14), the microprocessor (16) and the sounder (18). The alarm system (10) can be placed into the handlebar (24, FIG. 2) of a bicycle or the like by removing the handgrip (26, FIG. 2) and inserting the entire system (including the power supply 20) into the open end of the tubular handlebar.

Abstract: A compressor for providing automatic capacity modulation is disclosed. The compressor comprises a compression chamber, a compressing member, a reexpansion area, a flow passage, a valve member, and a biasing member. The flow passage is in fluid communication with the compression chamber and the reexpansion area. In one position, the valve member permits flow through the flow passage and in a second position it prevents flow. The valve member is subjected to a first operating condition of fluid on one side and a second operating condition of the fluid on the other side. The biasing member exerts a biasing force on the valve member. When the first operating condition reaches a predetermined point relative to the second operating condition, the valve member moves and effects a change in the capacity of the compressor.
