  • Patent number: 5015420
Abstract: An improved evaporative cooler containing a new and unique designed funnel induction system, which creates a greater vacuum of air drawn directly through each pad frame equally, and into the split squirrel cage, thereby increasing the vacuum and cooling efficiency by completely bypassing any heat generated or trapped inside the evaporative coolers dead space. The wettable air permeable pads have been redesigned and incorporated in a sandwich-type installation, being constructed of an absorbent spong-like plastic fiber, backed by a layer of coarse mesh-like type plastic fiber filter, thus providing a cleaner hygienic air supply,--at the same time reducing the amount of water needed in prior art evaporative coolers.
