  • Patent number: 10757748
Abstract: A computing system includes a base processing device, as well as a display device having a screen. In an attached mode, the base processing device is mechanically attached to the base processing device, and is to display a user interface on the display device using a mechanical data connection between the base processing device and the display device. In a detached mode, the base processing device is mechanically detached from the display device, and is to render the user interface and transmit the rendered user interface to the display device over a wireless data connection between the base processing device and the display device. The display device is to receive and responsively display the rendered user interface.

  • Patent number: 10433362
Abstract: A computer system to continuously maintain a user session when a display device is mechanically connected and disconnected with a base processing device is described. The computer system allows the user to run applications during the user session on the base processing device and use the display device as a monitor. The display device can be detached from the base processing device, and the base processing device can continue running the applications for the user session. In this mode, the separated display device can be used as a tablet form factor computing device which can accept user input and send the user input to the base processing device. Among other functions, the base processing device can operate with the display device disconnected by generating session content for the display device, including, for example, sending application content, video streams, and other content to the display device.

  • Publication number: 20130009391
Abstract: Personal restraint systems for use in recreational utility vehicles (RUVs) are disclosed herein. A personal restraint system configured in accordance with one embodiment of the disclosure includes a web configured to extend around an occupant and a locking retractor having a motorized spool. A control module is electrically coupled to the locking retractor and the motorized spool is operably coupled to the web. A sensor is electrically coupled to the control module and is configured to detect dynamic characteristics of the RUV. In one embodiment, the sensor detects acceleration events that indicate a level of ride quality and the locking retractor adjusts the tension in the web based on the level of ride quality.

  • Patent number: 6213867
Abstract: An air handling system for an enclosed space in a building includes two induction units that can be mounted above a ceiling. Each unit has an elongate air plenum section and an air mixing section forming an air mixing chamber. Air nozzles extend into the air mixing chamber and are mounted on a side of the air plenum section. Each nozzle has an inlet end opening into an interior chamber of the plenum section. Each air mixing section has an air outlet formed at a lower end thereof and a side air inlet for permitting return air to flow into the mixing chamber. Each induction unit is mounted so that the air mixing section extends at a substantial acute angle to the ceiling with the air outlet positioned where the mixing section meets the ceiling. The return air is drawn by a venturi effect created by the nozzles into each mixing chamber.

  • Patent number: 4095454
Abstract: A device for demonstrating the relative effectiveness of various types of thermal insulation having a plenum chamber, at least two cells each communicating with the plenum chamber and receiving a quantity of insulation therein, and a separate after chamber communicating with each cell and the atmosphere with a thermometer received therein. A portion of a stream of heated air under pressure discharged into the plenum chamber passes through each cell and its associated after chamber and is discharged into the atmosphere. The differences in the temperature, as indicated by the thermometers, of the stream of air passing through each after chamber provide a visual indication of the relative effectiveness of the insulation in each cell and such differences in temperature can be physically sensed by a person who successively places a hand in the stream of air discharged to the atmosphere from each after chamber.
