  • Patent number: 11942845
Abstract: In one embodiment, a stator coil that includes a first turn with two or more strands is provided. The first turn includes first and second opposite sides, a coil termination at a first end of the first turn and an inversion region disposed at a second end, opposite the coil termination. The stator coil also includes at least one additional turn with two or more strands. The at least one additional turn includes first and second opposite sides, and an inversion region located adjacent to the inversion region of the first turn. The first and second sides of the first turn are inverted relative to the first and second sides of the at least one additional turn outside their respective inversion regions.

  • Publication number: 20240072621
Abstract: A method of making an electromagnetic coil for use in a high-temperature electromagnetic machine includes pre-coating magnet wire with a high-temperature insulation precursor to produce pre-coated magnet wire, winding, while applying in-situ a glass-ceramic slurry, the pre-coated magnet wire into a predetermined coil shape to produce a wet-wound green coil, and thermally processing the wet-wound green coil to produce a processed coil. In some instances, a second layer of a high-temperature insulation may be applied to the processed coil to produce a further insulated processed coil, and then thermally processing the further insulated processed coil to produce a further processed electromagnetic coil.

  • Publication number: 20130049837
Abstract: A system-on-a-chip (SoC), a method of serving a Stratum-1 clock signal from an SoC and a device including the SoC. In one embodiment, the SoC includes: (1) a monolithic substrate, (2) a time code receiver clock source supported by the monolithic substrate and configured to receive a timing signal and generate a clock signal for the SoC and (3) at least one of a processor, memory and other SoC circuitry supported by the monolithic substrate and configured to receive the clock signal from the time code receiver clock source.
