  • Publication number: 20190021867
Abstract: A reverse shoulder joint prosthesis (1) for location between a humerus and a scapula comprised a ball (5) to be fixed to the scapula and a humeral stem 6 to be fixed to the humerus. The prosthesis comprises a first cup (2), a second cup (3) and a plate (4) retained between said cups. The first cup is free to move about the ball. The plate has a trunion (16) adapted to connect to the humeral stem through an aperture in the second cup. The plate is free to move between the cups. The prosthesis has a first phase of movement in which the plate moves between the cups and a distinct second phase of movement in which the first cup moves on the ball. The shoulder joint prosthesis provides an extended range of movement through the provision of two motion phases while minimising wear, scapula infringement and instability.

  • Patent number: 10086964
Abstract: A lidding system for heat sealing a lidding web onto open-topped plastic containers includes a heat sealing head including heat sealing dies and a number of carrier plates for supporting a queue of containers. The carrier plates are displaced past the sealing head and define transverse slots between them. The system includes an optical sensor for sensing the a position of labels on the lidding web, and further includes a pair of pleating bars movable in a vertical direction and extending transversely relative to the direction of travel of the carrier plates. The system includes a PLC linked to the optical sensor for actuating displacement of the pleating bars into lowered positions wherein the bars are received in the slots to form pleats in the lidding web, thereby adjusting the position of the labels relative to the containers, in response to the labels not being sufficiently aligned with the containers.

  • Publication number: 20180263248
Abstract: A sausage cutting apparatus 10 for cutting an extruded length of sausage into smaller sausage portions includes first and second cutting assemblies located at opposite sides of a feed path. The cutting assemblies include flexible toothed belts 38 driven by toothed pinions, to which a number of longitudinally-spaced cutting device 30 are fixedly attached. The apparatus includes a drive system for synchronously driving the belts 38 and a guide system for guiding displacement of the cutting devices into and out of meshing engagement with one another for cutting the length of sausage. Each cutting device includes a cutting blade defining a domed cutting face at an inner side thereof. The cutting devices are displaced along arcuate cutter paths during meshing engagement of the cutting blades wherein the cutting faces of opposing pairs of cutting blades mesh with a slight interference fit in a conjugate meshing action.

  • Patent number: 9816717
Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods of 80/90 CFM ventilation exhaust fans for bathrooms with telescoping side extension brackets and side by side electric driven motor and blower wheel, and being used with or without lights. The exhaust fans can include a single main housing, that allows for a blower housing to support the motor and a blower wheel in a side by side arrangement. The exhaust fans can further include an outside wiring box that is externally located to the main housing. The wiring box can have support male plugs and female receptacles for supplying an electrical power supply to the electric motor and light. The side extension brackets can include telescoping members that allow the exhaust fans to be easily attached to structural members inside of a ceiling so that the exhaust fan has a vent cover attached to the ceiling. Inside of the exhaust fans can be light box with closed sides and bottom which prevents incoming air from passing directly onto the lights.

  • Publication number: 20120132502
Abstract: A system for transferring cans from a first rotary cooker or cooler to a second rotary cooker or cooler is provided. A smooth path is provided for transferring the cans to reduce denting and other damage to the cans. The cans can be transferred at higher speeds or with thinner walls. Acceleration imparted to the cans being transferred is minimized by using a slightly inclined discharge ramp, an upwardly concave tongue and a portion of the periphery of a support wheel between the discharge ramp and tongue.
