Patent number: 10672085Abstract: Systems and methods for mixing, storing, and dispensing pesticides, and guiding a user to an appropriate pest solution, are provided. One pesticide dispensing system includes a portable container comprising an opening configured to receive a pack having a predetermined size and shape, the pack containing a concentrated pesticide. The system further includes a piercing unit to create a hole in the pack for dispensing the pesticide into the container via the opening. Embodiments also include a pest solution selection kiosk comprising a display for displaying a first set of prompts for selection of a pest solution and receiving a touch input representing user selection of a prompt; a processor for identifying second prompts based on the user selection and stored pest solution criteria and identifying a pest solution product based on user-selection of the second prompts. The display presents information about the selected product and/or a dispense option.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2016Date of Patent: June 2, 2020Assignee: NUFARM AMERICAS INC.Inventors: Tom Lyons, Brian Pike, Brian Rund, Jonathan Hart

Patent number: 7516147Abstract: A licensing system and method for deploying digital content is provided. A client system can download the digital content from the server and, if a valid license for the content is also found on the server, software may be permitted to run digital content. The license is stored in a location that is separate from the content. The license can be located using the URL address of the content. The system can locate the license on the server and determine whether the license covers the content. Content that is covered by the license can be processed and rendered. The content can be any form of digital media, such as a computer application.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2003Date of Patent: April 7, 2009Assignee: Sumisho Computer Systems CorporationInventors: David A. Kranz, Robert H. Halstead, Jr., Tom Lyons

Patent number: 6976816Abstract: The present invention relates to a connection between a spindle and a bearing assembly to retain the bearing assembly on the spindle. A combination lock washer and spindle bearing assembly is provided to include a spindle, thrust washer, lock washer and nut in which the lock washer simultaneously locks the inner thrust washer and an outer spindle nut. According to the present invention, the thrust washer, lock washer and nut may be oriented at any angle relative to one another allowing for infinite bearing adjustment positions.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2003Date of Patent: December 20, 2005Assignee: Dana CorporationInventors: Steve Slesinski, Jeff Moreau, Dave Moses, Tom Lyon

Publication number: 20050146206Abstract: A wheel end assembly is provided that incorporates a staked spindle nut while minimizing potential thread damage on the nut and axle spindle. The assembly includes an axle spindle configured to support a wheel bearing. The axle spindle includes an inboard portion defining a plurality of threads and an outboard portion having a recess formed therein. The assembly further includes a nut having an inboard portion defining a plurality of threads configured to engage the threads on the axle spindle and an outboard portion in the form of a deformable collar. The nut is threaded onto the axle spindle and a portion of the collar is deformed to fit within the recess in the outboard portion of the axle spindle.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2003Publication date: July 7, 2005Inventors: Jeff Moreau, Tom Lyon, Enrico Miracoli, Dave Moses

Patent number: 6026443Abstract: A control memory is provided for storing the control and state information of a number of virtual direct memory access (DMA) channels. A control memory arbiter and a control memory data bus are also provided to arbitrate accesses to the control memory to facilitate asynchronous transmit and receive. Separate areas in the control memory are provided for storing the control and state information of the transmit DMAs, and the receive DMAs. Additionally, descriptive information about the transmit/receive data ring and its descriptor, the data packet being transferred and its cells are also stored for the transmit and receive DMAs. The control memory is also used to stored a programmable bandwidth group (BWG) table comprising a plurality of BWG index entries for bandwidth selection.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1992Date of Patent: February 15, 2000Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: Rasoul M. Patent number: 5313646Abstract: In a computer system having a hierarchical file structure, a file system is provided which permits users of the system to share a file hierarchy and also have a private hierarchy in which files are automatically copied to as they are modified. Through the system of the present invention, a directory appears to the user as a single directory but may actually comprise files originating from a number of directories which are connected to one another through search links. Each directory has a search link associated with it which contains the path name of the back layer or directory behind it. The first layer seen through the system of the present invention is the front layer, private to the user. The back layers behind the front layer and connected to the front layer through the search links are shared layers accessible to multiple users. Thus transparent to the user of the directory accessible comprises multiple layers comprising shared and private files.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1991Date of Patent: May 17, 1994Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: David Hendricks, Evan Adams, Tom Lyon, Terrence C.
