  • Patent number: 8932256
Abstract: An insertion device may include a device housing configured to be operatively engaged with and disengaged from a base, and engageable with an actuation device, the device housing having a carrier body supporting a piercing member. The carrier body moveable by a carrier body of the actuation device at least between a retracted position and an advanced position. The device housing having a section for supporting a portion of the carrier body of the device housing, the section moveable relative to the carrier body of the device housing to provide sufficient clearance to allow the carrier body of the device housing to be moved by the carrier body of the actuation device.

    Assignee: Medtronic Minimed, Inc.
Inventors: Colin A. Chong, Eric M. Lorenzen, Rafael Bikovsky, Arsen Ibranyan, Adam J. Livingston, Tom McGee, Steven Masterson
  • Patent number: 8882710
Abstract: An insertion device may include a base adapted to be carried by a patient, and a housing attached to the base, the housing having a fluid connector arranged for movement relative to the base. A pair of interactive elements including a first interactive element may be supported on the base and a second interactive element supported on the housing at a location to be interactable with the first interactive element when the fluid connector is moved to a predetermined position. Circuitry may be configured to detect an interaction between the first interactive element and the second interactive element when the fluid connector is in the predetermined position, the circuitry configured to provide a signal or a change in state in response to detecting the interaction between the first interactive element and the second interactive element.

  • Publication number: 20100299277
Abstract: The present invention provides methods, devices, and systems for enhancing the dissemination of information throughout an organization, and more particularly to developing meaningful mentoring relationships within such an organization. Tools are provided that allow mentors and learners to define their current traits as well as relationship goals and, based on those defined traits and goals, locate valuable learners/mentors.

  • Patent number: 6810144
Abstract: A method of and system for detecting a cartoon in a video stream are provided. The system comprises a storage device for storing the encoded signal and a processor for processing low parameter information extracted from the encoded video signal. The information is extracted based on the predetermined characteristics of a typical cartoon. At least one value is computed based on the low parameter information and it is compared to the predetermined values for natural video. Based on the comparison the determination is made whether the video sequence contains a cartoon.

  • Publication number: 20040187767
Abstract: A method for making ingots, and devices for making ingots are provided. Crucibles are provided that are reusable for forming multicrystalline silicon ingots. Crucibles are provided with features such as multiple components, coefficients of thermal expansion, and coatings that enhance a release of the ingots from the crucibles after cooling. Coatings on crucibles are provided that reduce or eliminate contamination of silicon ingots during formation. Methods of forming composite wafers are provided that produce a low cost wafer without sacrificing performance.
