    Abstract: An improved junk basket comprises a tool body having a longitudinally extending passageway therethrough and a magnet assembly disposed in the passageway. A retainer is cooperative between the magnet assembly and the tool body to retain the magnet assembly in a lower position in the passageway and selectively releasable to permit longitudinal movement of the magnet assembly to an upper position in the passageway whereby core cutting apparatus and/or an improved reverse circulation system, also included in the tool, may be employed.
