Publication number: 20230321298Abstract: A disinfecting system for a room having at least a first and second wall defining a room dimension including a housing having a reservoir containing a disinfecting fluid, a nozzle assembly including a nozzle and a nozzle controller for dispensing the disinfecting fluid into a room, and a pump for communicating the disinfecting fluid from the reservoir to the nozzle assembly. A controller controls the dispensing of the disinfectant. A dispensing profile controls the dispensing of said disinfectant. The dispensing profile utilizes the dimensions of the room as instructions for the central controller to identify the range for dispensing the disinfecting fluid. The central controller utilizes the dispensing profile instructions for manipulating either the pump, fan or nozzle assembly to dispense a desired volume of the disinfectant fluid at a range as identified by the dispensing profile.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2022Publication date: October 12, 2023Inventors: Kim Rozier, Tom Scott, Tristan Rozier

Publication number: 20160144316Abstract: A contaminated gas stream can be passed through an in-line mixing device, positioned in a duct containing the contaminated gas stream, to form a turbulent contaminated gas stream. One or more of the following is true: (a) a width of the in-line mixing device is no more than about 75% of a width of the duct at the position of the in-line mixing device; (b) a height of the in-line mixing device is no more than about 75% of a height of the duct at the position of the in-line mixing device; and (c) a cross-sectional area of the mixing device normal to a direction of gas flow is no more than about 75% of a cross-sectional area of the duct at the position of the in-line mixing device. An additive can be introduced into the contaminated gas stream to cause the removal of the contaminant by a particulate control device.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 24, 2015Publication date: May 26, 2016Inventors: Ronald Hanson, Tom Scott, Tyler Derritt, Cameron Martin

Patent number: 9062655Abstract: Several embodiments that enhance and improve the efficiencies of vertical axis wind turbine generators by expanding their normal range of useful operations. Stationary vanes provided external to the rotor blades provide directional control of wind/air flow into the blades for decreased drag and increased differential wind pressure. Control scenarios for adjusting stationary wind vanes and additional ducting of air to increase efficiencies.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2010Date of Patent: June 23, 2015Inventor: Tom Scott

Patent number: 7973420Abstract: Several embodiments are disclosed that enhance and improve the efficiencies of alternative electrical generating sources by converting electrical energy to potential energy through electro-mechanical means. The embodiments provide gravitational energy storage by lifting masses from lower to higher elevations during desired periods, such as when the generating sources are producing excess energy or when electrical rates are the least expensive. Energy storage is maintained until such time as it is need and then converted from potential mechanical energy to electricity by gravitational forces. By storing energy, one can supplement and enhance the efficiencies of producing electricity by alternative means such as wind and solar by expanding the times when electricity is available. Additionally, one can time-shift the purchase and use of commercial power by buying power to store energy when rates are low and using the stored energy when rates are high.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2009Date of Patent: July 5, 2011Assignee: ViewTek2 LLCInventor: Tom Scott

Publication number: 20070247310Abstract: A bed monitoring system that remotely monitors a patient bed. The bed monitoring system comprises a bed status system and a master station. The bed status system is coupled to the patient bed and is configured to monitor at least one condition of the bed, and to generate a bed message indicating the status of the monitored condition. The master station, remote from the patient bed, is operatively coupled to the bed status system to receive bed status information. The bed message can include a bed identifier, bed type identifier, patient exit detection signal, bed occupied signal, or various other status signals. The system can also include locating stations that receive the bed messages from any beds within its monitored location, and generates a station message including information from the bed messages. The master station receives the station messages and can determine the status and location of any bed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2007Publication date: October 25, 2007Inventors: Daniel Ulrich, Matthew Weismiller, Tom Scott, Bob Jennings, Julie Myers, Joe Novak

Publication number: 20040182862Abstract: The invention provides for a disposable container lid (200) adapted to fit over of the opening (208) of a disposable beverage cup (210) or other container. The container lid (200) generally comprises a reservoir (204), a thermal insulating layer (300) disposed on a floor (207) of said reservoir (204), and an orifice (202) that accommodates a straw. In one embodiment, the circular container lid (200) advantageously prevents the contents of a condiment package from quickly assuming the temperature of the liquid inside the disposable beverage cup (210). In another embodiment, the container lid (200) includes an adhesive means, such as a pair of sticky patches (302) and (304) that firmly holds the condiment package in place in the reservoir (204).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2003Publication date: September 23, 2004Inventor: Tom Scott

Patent number: 6147592Abstract: A bed status information system for indicating to attending personnel the status of a patient bed includes bed condition input signal generators carried by the bed and coupled to operational elements on the bed, which have one or more monitorable conditions. The signal generators are operable to monitor a bed element condition and input signal indicative of the status of the monitored condition. An interface board on the bed processes the bed condition input signal and generates bed condition messages, which indicate the status of the monitored condition. A processing station remote from the bed is electrically coupled via a datalink to the interface board and is operable to receive the bed condition messages and indicate the status of the patient bed and its operational elements to attending personnel at a location remote from the bed, thereby eliminating the need for constant personnel attendance at the bed.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1997Date of Patent: November 14, 2000Assignee: Hill-Rom, Inc.Inventors: Daniel J.
