Publication number: 20260127089Abstract: Systems and methods described herein relate to runtime behavior modification for session-specific logging in the context of a software application. According to some examples, a system detects that session-specific logging is to be applied for a session of a software application. In response to detecting that session-specific logging is to be applied, the system enables the session-specific logging by dynamically adapting one or more original logging functions of the software application to provide one or more augmented logging functions. The software application is executed with the one or more augmented logging functions. As a result, session-specific logging is performed during the session to capture and store log data corresponding to a session-specific log level.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2024Publication date: May 7, 2026Inventor: Tom Spiegler

Publication number: 20260111337Abstract: Dynamic logging adjustment can be performed during a debug session to facilitate issue resolution. A user of a software platform can initiate a debug session with a specified logging profile. The logging profile includes respective log levels for backend components of the software platform which only apply to server requests associated with the debug session. During the debug session, the user attempts to reproduce the issue which triggers corresponding server requests. The server determines whether a given server request is part of the debug session, and if so, dynamically adjusts the log level for actions associated with the server request. A debug session identifier for the debug session is inserted in log entries associated with the server request. After the debug session has concluded, server logs can be filtered by the debug session identifier to obtain a targeted set of log entries pertaining to the issue.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2024Publication date: April 23, 2026Applicant: SAP SEInventors: Tom Spiegler, Franz Josef Grueneberger, Henning Zahn

Patent number: 12499103Abstract: A system and method to query, update, and reduce a size of locking data for a dataset including a fixed plurality of dimensions each having a fixed plurality of members comprising index tables for the dimensions and a locks table specifying one of a fixed plurality of lock states for the plurality of members, where the fixed plurality of members each have an associated index.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2024Date of Patent: December 16, 2025Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Richard Pilz, Adrian Mocan, Katja Pfeifer, Tom Spiegler

Publication number: 20250348401Abstract: Automated performance profiling can be performed for software modules imported during a backend session of a software platform. An import request for an entity (e.g., a requested function or requested class) received from a client application during the backend session can be intercepted by an automatic performance profiling process which wraps a software module implementing the entity with profiling. The request can include an indication to enhance the entity with profiling. Responsive to the request, the server identifies and imports the software module implementing the entity with a software engine and determines whether the software module includes profiling. If the software module does not yet include profiling, the server transforms the requested entity into a profiling-enhanced entity by wrapping the requested entity with profiling. The profiling-enhanced entity is then output to fulfill the request.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2024Publication date: November 13, 2025Applicant: SAP SEInventor: Tom Spiegler

Patent number: 12282472Abstract: The present disclosure involves systems, software, and computer implemented methods for automatically extending a partially-editable dataset copy. One example method includes identifying, for a data set, extension filter criteria that extends a current filter that defines an editable portion of the data set. An extended filter is automatically generated for the data set based on the extension filter criteria and the current filter. Additional data is copied into the partially-editable copy of the data set based on the extended filter and the current filter to generate an updated partially-editable copy of the data set. The current filter is replaced with the extended filter to create a new current filter. An updated exposed view is generated using the new current filter that exposes the updated partially-editable copy of the data set and an updated non-editable portion of the data set.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2024Date of Patent: April 22, 2025Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Jan Rittinger, Johannes Meinecke, Gregor Hackenbroich, Richard Pilz, Katja Pfeifer, Tom Spiegler, Franz Josef Grueneberger
