  • Patent number: 4556913
Abstract: A rear projection television receiver has an image source, first and second mirrors, and a screen. Light travels from the image source to the screen along a first light path via the first and second mirrors and along a second path that bypasses the mirrors. A light baffle assembly comprising a plurality of elongated baffle elements is located in both the first and second light paths. The angle of the individual baffle elements is adjusted so that light rays are unaffected along the first light path and substantially completely blocked along the second light path.

  • Patent number: 4261017
Abstract: An electron beam influencing apparatus comprises a deflection yoke which incorporates a kinescope neck-embracing collar which extends from the rear of the yoke. The collar extends over a portion of a slidably mounted sleeve. Permanent magnet neck components are rotationally mounted to the sliding sleeve. The collar and sleeve are formed so that the yoke and collar rotates independently of the sleeve, but longitudinal movement of the yoke and collar will cause longitudinal movement of the sleeve also. A single clamp is used to secure the collar and sleeve to the tube neck. The collar may be attached to a yoke adjustment plate which allows pivotal or transverse yoke motion while maintaining stationary positioning of the adjustment plate.

  • Patent number: 4131822
Abstract: A shadow mask electrode for a line screen cathode ray tube comprises a formed metal sheet having an array of slot-like apertures therein. The apertures are disposed in parallel rows with the apertures elongated in the direction of the rows and separated from adjacent apertures in the same row by webs. An array of discrete surface cavities are provided as holes etched part way through the thickness of the mask. Each cavity is smaller than an aperture of the mask, is laterally spaced from the center-line of an aperture row opposite a web, and extends slightly into the web.
