    Abstract: A method for locating an anatomical landmark includes obtaining an ultrasound image of an anatomical area from an ultrasound imaging device and inputting the ultrasound image into a first stage of a convolutional neural network where the first stage configured to determine a key-point location of the anatomical area. The method also includes generating, for the key-point location, a cropped region of the ultrasound image and inputting the cropped region into a second stage of the convolutional neural network, where the second stage is configured to locate the anatomical landmark of the anatomical area. Then, outputting a location of the anatomical landmark.
