  • Patent number: 11941161
Abstract: Data manipulation using remote augmented sensing is disclosed. Wireless connectivity is provided between a processor and a wireless transceiver. The wireless transceiver is embedded in an oral sensing interface. A tongue position sensor (TPS) is coupled to the wireless transceiver. The tongue position sensor is attached to the interface. An inertial measurement unit (IMU) is coupled to the wireless transceiver. The IMU is attached to a location along the interface. An interface-embedded preprocessor is further coupled between the wireless transceiver and the output from the TPS and the IMU. Data manipulation is enabled in the processor, based on the wireless connectivity and outputs from the TPS and the IMU. Other sensors are coupled, including a barometric sensor, an ambient condition sensor, a microphone, and a sound generating device. At least one additional inertial measurement unit is coupled to the wireless transceiver.

  • Publication number: 20230157637
Abstract: Intraoral electronic sensing for health monitoring is disclosed. Wireless connectivity is provided between a processor and a wireless transmitting device. The wireless transmitting device is embedded in an intraoral sensing interface for use in a person. Sensors are coupled to the wireless transmitting device, wherein the sensors are attached to the intraoral sensing interface. The sensors include a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to detect cardiac activity, a breathing sensor to detect pulmonary function, an inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor to detect three-dimensional motion, and a temperature sensor to monitor body temperature. Further sensors include an electroencephalogram sensor to detect brain activity. Health data about the person is provided to a receiving device, based on data from one or more of the PPG sensor, the breathing sensor, the IMU sensor, and the temperature sensor. The health data is provided using the wireless connectivity.

  • Publication number: 20220206986
Abstract: Data manipulation using intraoral, connected devices is disclosed. Wired connectivity is provided between a first device and a second device, both inside the mouth. The first device comprises a processor device. The wired connectivity is provided by a serpentine coupling. The serpentine coupling enables three-dimensional flexibility inside the mouth for the coupling. The serpentine coupling comprises an electrical cable. The serpentine coupling can be routed in the valley space between teeth, routed behind a last molar tooth, or routed over one or more teeth inside the mouth. Wireless connectivity is provided between the first device and a device outside the mouth. The wireless connectivity is enabled using a wireless transceiver. Data transmission is enabled between the first device and the device outside the mouth. The enabling includes powering at least the first device using an intraoral energy source.

  • Patent number: 10905371
Abstract: Introduced here is technology to monitor moisture levels in a hygiene product, such as tampons, pads, menstrual cups, child diapers, adult diapers etc. According to one embodiment, a moisture sensor is inserted inside a feminine hygiene product. The moisture sensor is connected to a wearable device that gathers the moisture data and sends the data to a mobile device, such as a cell phone. The cell phone generates notifications to the user, such as percentage saturation of the feminine hygiene product, message to change the feminine hygiene product, expected start and end dates of the next menstrual cycle, etc. According to another embodiment, the moisture sensor can be inserted in other hygiene products, such as child diapers or adult diapers, to measure the amount of urination, defecation, or other excretions, and to generate notifications to the user, the user's caretaker, or a third party.
