  • Patent number: 10938069
Abstract: A metal-based battery includes at least one metal electrode immersed within an electrolyte that includes: (1) an aprotic solvent; (2) a simple halogen containing material; and (3) optionally a metal salt that includes a complex halogen containing anion. The simple halogen containing material may include a metal halide salt that includes a metal cation selected from the group including but not limited to lithium and sodium metal cations. The metal halide salt may also include a halide anion selected from the group consisting of fluoride, chloride, bromide and iodide halide anions. The use of the metal halide salt within the metal-based battery provides enhanced cycling ability within the metal-based battery. Also contemplated are additional simple halogen containing material additives that may enhance cycling performance of a metal-based battery.

  • Patent number: 8588606
Abstract: A network monitoring module for deployment in a branched optical network at a split location where the network splits into a plurality of branches, the network monitoring module is disclosed, comprising an array of transmitters for generating optical test signals, an output of each transmitter in the array being optically connected to a respective branch, a detector for receiving a remotely generated optical trigger signal which identifies a particular one of the transmitters, and a CMOS circuit for selectively triggering the transmitter identified in the optical trigger signal to transmit an optical test signal into the branch connected to that transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20080205885
Abstract: A fiber pigtailed network monitoring module incorporating an optical printed circuit board on which a signal-transferring connection is remotely actuated between electronic components mounted on the board and active and/or passive optical devices mounted on the board to generate remotely readable monitoring signals.

  • Patent number: 7177394
Abstract: The connection architecture is configured to digitally monitor filters therein, directly connecting a test table to the intermediate distribution frame without requiring wiring to the DSLAM. Filter cards of the dominant operators and of second operators, at least one smart card containing the relays that are activated from the test table, for which a digital bus is used, allowing measurement of the subscriber loop for filters of second operators and the DSLAM signal as well for the dominant operator, are further provided with an additional card in charge of receiving and distributing the signal that arrives from the DSLAM, between the filters, and connectors to which are connected the filter cards so that when they are extracted, the input (voice) is connected to the output (voice +data) so that the voice signal is not disconnected.

  • Patent number: 7158614
Abstract: A metal port block is used on an intermediate distributor or vertical terminal block in a connection architecture to obtain a metal contact of the combined voice and data signals, which can subsequently be monitored by a test rack, without needing to disconnect or reconnect any bridge or cable. The access to the intermediate distribution frame can be established by a connecting block with which a plurality of boards are associated. The boards are vertically arranged in an array and each incorporates its relays or associated electronics to extract and supply information to a test table. Each board has pins to couple with the cavities of the distribution frame.

  • Patent number: 7056147
Abstract: A strip is provided with a series of housings for a like number of terminals to which conductor wires accede thrust by a tool in order to establish a connection, by means of displacing the conductor wires over the terminals. Each housing or chamber is independent of those adjacent, the separation being constituted by means of transversal partitions, which makes possible the pouring of a sealing gel into the respective housing chamber up to a level which is at a height lower than the entrance step of the conductor wires and above the edge of the terminals, with the objective that both said terminals and the connections thereof with the conductors be immersed in the sealing gel in order to prevent oxidation on the connections.

  • Publication number: 20040266268
Abstract: In wideband filter installations and connections it is proposed to replace the conventional connection assembly for connecting the filter card (1′) to the corresponding wiring (7), by a single strip (8) with closed contacts. This allows the size of the frame (5′) to be significantly reduced and also allows the contact between the voice input and the corresponding output to be maintained in the event of a failure at the data input. In addition, the filter cards (1′) preferably are individual cards, for a single user, allowing to install them one-by-one on a multiple strip as the number of users increases.
