  • Patent number: 10760755
Abstract: A lighting system for automobiles is proposed which includes a laser light source emitting a primary laser light bundle within a solid angle area around a beam direction, a photoluminescence element positioned within the emitted primary light beam, and a protective element that protects against stray laser rays. The photoluminescence element is configured to absorb the laser rays impinging on said element and by means of the photoluminescence to radiate secondary light rays. The lighting system includes a protection system with a protective element of an elongated shape having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end of the protective element is positioned within the beam direction of the primary light beam and downstream of the photoluminescence element.

  • Patent number: 9854646
Abstract: A method and a device for the reduction of margins of the light image of a headline, and the headline incorporating the device, is provided, having a reflective diaphragm which is adapted to be shifted in a light axis direction within adjustment limits of a longitudinal position. The margins of the light image can be detected by an optical colour-sensitive photometric sensor, and colour characteristics of the light image margins can be evaluated by identifying a current position of the reflective diaphragm. The reflective diaphragm can then be fixed in the longitudinal position corresponding to selected colour characteristics of the light image margins. The reflective diaphragm can also be adapted to be shifted in a direction perpendicular to the light axis direction.

  • Patent number: 9366405
Abstract: A projector headlamp includes light sources, a cooling system and reflector comprising an upper part with a first focal point and second focal point and a lower part with a first focal point and second focal point. The headlamp also includes an aperture with a cutoff edge proximate an optical axis of the headlamp and a convergent lens. The convergent lens includes at least two segments with their own first focal points, the first segment in a lower part of the convergent lens has a greater optical power than a second segment in an upper part, the first focal points of the segments located near the optical axis of the headlamp between the light sources and the lens. The light sources comprise at least two light sources, a first adjoins the first focal point of the upper part and a second adjoins the first focal point of the bottom part.

  • Patent number: 7357545
Abstract: The headlamp assembly having low beam and high beam operation modes includes a light source, a reflector surface adapted to reflect light from the light source outward to a condenser lens positioned at a distance from the light source. An opaque shield is positioned between the light source and the condenser lens and is moveable between a first position, where a portion of the reflected light is blocked from reaching the condenser lens, and a second position, where substantially all of the reflected light is allowed to reach the condenser lens. The condenser lens has a first segment and a second segment wherein, when the opaque shield is in the first position, light is reflected almost entirely to the first segment of the condenser lens, and when the opaque shield is in the second position, light is reflected to the first and second segments of the condenser lens.
