  • Publication number: 20190340507
Abstract: Taxonomy-based architecture data classifying methods and systems are disclosed. A classifier comprises processing nodes arranged in a tree-based architecture. During training mode a classifier module receives descriptions, generates classification predictions, sends the classification predictions to an error calculator to calculate gradients, and receives the gradient while the selector module receives descriptions and annotations associated to the sample piece of data, distributes the descriptions and annotations to child nodes. During testing mode, the classifier module receives descriptions, generates classification predictions and sends the classification predictions to the selector module which receives descriptions and predictions and distributes descriptions to child nodes corresponding to the predictions.

  • Patent number: 10268912
Abstract: Methods and systems of identification of objects in query images are disclosed. Keypoints in the query images are identified corresponding to objects to be identified. Visual words are identified in a dictionary of visual words for the identified keypoints. A set of hits is identified corresponding to reference images comprising the identified keypoints. Reference images corresponding to the identified set of hits are ranked using clustering of matches in a limited pose space. The limited pose space comprises a one-dimensional table corresponding to the rotation between the object to be identified with respect to the reference image. A first subset of M reference images that obtained a rank above a predetermined threshold is then selected. Offline, hybrid and combined offline and hybrid systems for performing the proposed methods are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9042659
Abstract: Identification of objects in images. All images are scanned for key-points and a descriptor is computed for each region. A large number of descriptor examples are clustered into a Vocabulary of Visual Words. An inverted file structure is extended to support clustering of matches in the pose space. It has a hit list for every visual word, which stores all occurrences of the word in all reference images. Every hit stores an identifier of the reference image where the key-point was detected and its scale and orientation. Recognition starts by assigning key-points from the query image to the closest visual words. Then, every pairing of the key-point and one of the hits from the list casts a vote into a pose accumulator corresponding to the reference image where the hit was found. Every pair key-point/hit predicts specific orientation and scale of the model represented by the reference image.

  • Patent number: 8798377
Abstract: Method, system and computer program for efficiently extracting and describing scale-space interest points. It is designed towards low overall computational complexity. On one hand, the data acquired during extraction in the description phase is intensively re-used. On the other hand, an algorithmic optimization of the description that dramatically speeds up the process, is proposed. First, the image is filtered with triangle kernel at different scales. The triangle filtered images are reused for extraction of the keypoints dominant orientation and the computation of the DAISY-like descriptor.

  • Publication number: 20130308822
Abstract: The method comprises performing said calculation by using data provided by an image recognition process which identifies at least one geo-referenced image of an object located in the surroundings of said personal device. The system is arranged for implementing the method of the present invention.
