  • Publication number: 20110268403
Abstract: Mounting and strain relief device for mounting a subassembly such as a plug or a socket or a furcation adapter being part of to a first fiber optic cable, and being received in a fastening device to a second fiber optic cable such as a distribution cable. The mounting and strain relief device has a plate like basic body having a mounting portion and two opposite end sections. The basic body of the device is mountable to the second fiber optic cable via the mounting section and both end sections are designed for receiving the fastening device for receiving and securing the subassembly being part of the first fiber optic cable.

  • Patent number: 8023792
Abstract: A system for the distribution of optical fibers is disclosed. The system has a first furcation area, which is associated with a first fiber optic cable, to tap off a subset of the optical fibers of the first fiber optic cable in the form of a tether cable. The first fiber optic cable may be a riser cable. The tether cable is supplied to a spool device to store any excess length of the tether cable while complying with the minimum permissible bending radius of the optical fibers. The system has a second furcation area, which is associated with the spool device, to separate the optical fibers of the tether cable. The separated optical fibers of the tether cable can each be supplied to an individual splice storage device in which, in each case, one spliced joint can be placed between a separated optical fiber of the tether cable and an optical fiber of a second fiber optic cable, which may be a drop cable.

  • Publication number: 20110188810
Abstract: A connector for simultaneously connecting optical fibers and copper conductors having a receptable connector part and a plug connector part is disclosed. The plug connector part fits into the receptable connector part during mating of the plug connector part and the receptable connector part. The receptable connector part includes a receptable housing accommodating first electrical contacts, a first fiber optic ferrule, a first ferrule holding member for the first ferrule, a first spring element acting against said first ferrule holding member and is held by a first spring push element. The plug connector part includes a plug housing accommodating second electrical contacts, a second fiber optic ferrule, a second ferrule holding member for the second ferrule and a second spring element acting against the second ferrule holding member and being held by a second spring push element. The receptable housing and plug housing each being designed as a one piece housing.
