  • Publication number: 20240337783
Abstract: There is provided a lighting system for illuminating an optically translucent panel, the panel having an exposed surface, a first edge, and a second edge opposite the first edge. The lighting system comprises a light source having a light-emitting surface, and an optical device configured to be positioned on the exposed surface of the panel adjacent to the first edge, the light-emitting surface of the light source configured to be positioned on the optical device at a non-zero angle relative to the exposed surface of the panel, the optical device configured to direct light emitted by the light-emitting surface into the panel, the light guided within the panel towards the second edge by total internal reflection.

  • Publication number: 20240284813
Abstract: A device for removing weeds from a lawn or garden surface comprising: a drive shaft having a first end configured to operatively couple to a power unit for rotation about a longitudinal axis of the drive shaft and a second, free distal end; coupled to the second end, an auger having one or more flights and a boring member; and a weed engagement member axially coupled to the drive shaft at a longitudinal position intermediate the auger and the first end. A base member of the weed engagement member has at least one grasping finger depending therefrom towards the auger and axially offset from the longitudinal axis. Rotation of the drive shaft in a first direction when the boring member is in contact with the surface moves the auger into engagement with the weed and the weed engagement member is drawn towards and into engagement with the weed and vice-versa.

  • Publication number: 20240237575
Abstract: Described are lawn mowers/autosensing modules for lawn mowers configured to engage and/or disengage a drive motor based on one or more of: a tilt angle relative to a direction of travel, rotations of at least one wheel, applied load, a tension and a lawn mower position. The lawn mowers may comprise: a cutting blade(s); a blade motor operatively connected to the cutting blade(s); a drive motor operatively connected to a wheel assembly; a tilt sensor configured to sense a tilt angle of the lawn mower; and a controller operatively connected to the drive motor and in communication with the tilt sensor, and configured to disengage the drive motor in response to receiving a disengage signal, without disengaging the blade motor. When the tilt sensor senses the tilt angle is at or above a disengage angle, the tilt sensor transmits the disengage signal for receipt by the controller.

  • Patent number: 11313090
Abstract: Snow removal machines are provided that have an auger assembly for directing snow rearwards to be received by a discharge chute, and an auxiliary snow moving assembly for directing snow rearwards to be received by the discharge chute. The auger assembly has auger blade(s) coupled to an auger axle for rotation therewith about a first axis defined by the auger axle. The auxiliary snow moving assembly has snow moving member(s) coupled to an auxiliary axle for rotation therewith about a second axis defined by the auxiliary axle. The auxiliary axle is lower and rearwards of the auger axle towards the discharge chute; and an auxiliary drive assembly is configured to rotationally couple the auxiliary axle to the auger axle such that rotation of the auxiliary axle is driven by rotation of the auger axle.
