  • Publication number: 20230140387
Abstract: Systems and methods related to landing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are provided. In one example, a method includes receiving a UAV on a surface of a landing platform. The method may further include operating a positioning device disposed under the surface to locate the UAV. The method may further include operating the positioning device to move the UAV to a location and/or an orientation on the surface. The UAV may comprise landing gear having a plurality of legs, where each leg comprises a shock absorption system. The method may further include operating the shock absorption system during the receiving operation to reduce force received at stress areas of the UAV, and after the receiving operation, operating the shock absorption system to dampen movement by the UAV. Related devices and systems are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20230002046
Abstract: Accessory port systems and methods are provided. In one example, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes an accessory port configured to interchangeably attach a plurality of accessory devices to the UAV. The accessory port may have a mechanical interface configured to engage with one of the accessory devices. The mechanical interface may include a locking member configured to physically secure the accessory device to the accessory port. The accessory port may further include an electrical interface configured to electrically connect the accessory device to the UAV. The mechanical interface may be configured to align the accessory device relative to the electrical interface. Related devices, systems, and methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 6733005
Abstract: The invention relates to an electromechanical structure of an extendable electrical device comprising a body part (300) and a sleeve-like grip part (301). The smooth longitudinal movement between a retracted and extended position is effected by a clockspring in a spring barrel (302). A belt is wrapped around the barrel, and a slide part (306) is attached to the free end of the belt. When the device is retracted, the slide part with the belt slides along a longitudinal groove (304) made on at least one side of the body part until the slide part is interlocked. In response to pushing a releasing element, the interlocking is released, whereupon the belt is wrapped around the barrel and the body part slides smoothly to extended position.

  • Patent number: 6655764
Abstract: A housing or decorative cover for a mobile communication device is constructed by impact extrusion of metal. The impact extrusion die and punch are designed to provide attachment ridges and slots for ease of assembling the cover to the device. To provide a final shape and finish the impact extruded metal cover is drawn through a drawing stone.
