  • Patent number: 10378403
Abstract: A controller alternately repeats a desorption process of desorbing sulfur compound deposited on an NSR catalyst by supplying fuel from a direct injection valve to exhaust gas, and a pausing process of pausing fuel supply from the injection valve to the exhaust gas. The controller executes a cooling fuel addition for adding engine fuel from the addition valve of the exhaust passage to cool the addition valve during execution of the pausing process, and prohibit the cooling fuel addition during execution of the desorption process. The controller calculates a target temperature of the addition valve at the time of start of the desorption process such that the temperature of the addition valve during execution of the desorption process does not exceed an allowable upper limit temperature and calculates the addition amount at the time of cooling fuel addition.

  • Patent number: 10036295
Abstract: A aqueous urea solution supply device for an engine is provided with a tank that stores aqueous urea solution, a valve configured to add the aqueous urea solution to exhaust gas, and a passage configured to supply the aqueous urea solution in the tank to the valve. When a pressure of the aqueous urea solution supplied to the valve is equal to or lower than a predetermined pressure and the amount of the aqueous urea solution in the tank is equal to or smaller than a predetermined threshold, an electronic control unit determines that the aqueous urea solution in an amount required for cooling of the valve cannot be supplied from the tank to the valve and executes a return control for returning the aqueous urea solution in the valve to the tank.

  • Patent number: 7913667
Abstract: Fuel pipes guide fuel from a fuel tank provided in a rear area of the vehicle to a low-pressure fuel supply system and a high-pressure fuel supply system, respectively, for injecting the fuel to an engine provided in a front area of the vehicle. A branch point between the fuel pipes is arranged in the vicinity of the fuel tank to secure a long pipe length between the low-pressure fuel supply system and the high-pressure fuel supply system. This can suppress variation in fuel pressure at the low-pressure fuel supply system attributable to the fuel that is discharged from the high-pressure fuel pump within the high-pressure fuel supply system back to the fuel pipe.

  • Patent number: 7523742
Abstract: Leakage of a combustion gas is prevented by installing a seal ring in an annular groove provided in the outer peripheral surface of a fuel injection valve. Further, a combustion gas leaked from the seal ring is sealed in by providing a seal washer more on the rear end side of the fuel injection valve than the seal ring. Thus a combustion gas seal for an injection valve is provided, and the combustion gas seal is capable of exhibiting excellent sealing ability for a long term with a simple structure.
