  • Patent number: 6030116
Abstract: A system capable of measuring the heat and moisture transfer characteristics of thin materials such as clothing materials and the like simultaneously and accurately so as to obtain data for evaluating the suitableness of such material, for clothing. The sample 50 is set to partition the spaces 56 and 57, then the first and second types of air 1 and 2 which have been adjusted to the desired temperature and humidity flow into the temperature and humidity variation measurement section 53 in the desired amounts, respectively. The airs 1 and 2 are brought into contact with the temperature sensor 58 and the humidity sensor 59 at the inlet and outlet port of the section 53. An exchange of heat and moisture takes place between the air 1 and the air 2 through the sample 50. By measuring the temperature and humidity of the airs 1 and 2 at the inlet and outlet ports of the section 53, it is possible to understand the heat and moisture transfer characteristics of the sample 50.
