  • Patent number: 6665603
Abstract: A vehicle traveling control system is comprised of a following controller and a lane-keeping controller. The following controller controls an inter-vehicle distance between a host vehicle and a following object ahead of the host vehicle by controlling a vehicle speed on the basis of a detected inter-vehicle distance. The lane-keeping controller controls a steering control of the host vehicle so as to locate the host vehicle within a lane traveled by the host vehicle. A control condition of one of the following control and the steering control is changed according to the control condition of the other of the following control and the steering control.

  • Patent number: 5574889
Abstract: The invention is a design evaluation apparatus for evaluating a design composed of a plurality of design elements. The apparatus has a database stored therein. The database contains design elements, evaluation terms and a table defining relations of the respective design elements with respect to each of the evaluation terms. At least one of the evaluation terms representative of the design is selected from the table, based upon the design elements of the design. The selected evaluation term is used to produce an evaluation result.

  • Patent number: 5267146
Abstract: A system for designing a configuration capable of accounting for subtle variations of each design element involved. In this system, evaluation terms which expresses impressions associated with the design elements of the configuration is entered; a fuzzy knowledge data-base for memorizing relationships between the evaluation terms and the design elements in terms of fuzzy sets represented by membership functions is prepared; a pattern of each design element appropriate for the evaluation terms entered at the entering step is inferred according to the fuzzy knowledge data-base, and the configuration is constructed from the inferred pattern of each design element; and the constructed configuration is outputted.

  • Patent number: 4679463
Abstract: A limited slip differential comprises a pair of friction clutches interposed between a pair of pressure rings and a differential casing. The friction clutches are urged toward an engaged condition to reduce a differential action when a pinion mate shaft having a pair of cam portions rotate to urge the pressure rings to move away from each other. The friction clutches are also urged toward the engaged condition to reduce the differential action when supplied with fluid pressure from a hydraulic system. The hydraulic system controls supply and discharge of fluid pressure to and from said friction clutches in view of running conditions of the vehicle, such as for example accelerated conditions.
